As of version 1.9, players have two ways to create movement. Previously, such a mechanism required redstone. After the version you can do without it.
Making a portal using redstone
This the method is suitable for all versions. First of all, we need command block and creative mode (since the command block can only be controlled in creative mode). You can get it by running the command
/give @p command_block
(before this write /gamemode 1)
The /give command is responsible for issuing items. The @p parameter specifies that this command should only be used on the closest player. Since we are entering this command, the closest player to us will be ourselves. command_block — block name. I took it from the page where all the item ids are written.
A command block appears in the inventory. Now we have to find two points. 1 - where we will teleport from. 2 - where we will teleport. I have marked these positions diamond blocks.
I recommend writing down the values, because they will be useful to us later. How to find out the coordinates of blocks? Press F3 and you will see information about the game. Write down the values from the XYZ row, rounding down the values. Fine. We are all ready to create the portal. Now we need to build the mechanism. I won’t describe it in detail, but just show you a screenshot. It's not difficult to do such a thing.
For construction we will need:
- Command block;
- Redstone - 2 pcs;
- Any block;
- Red torch;
- Repeater.
We build what is shown in the screenshot:
Now right-click on the command block. An editing window should open. In chapter " console command » enter the following command:
/tp @p x y z
Replace the question marks in square brackets with your values (the coordinates of the block from which we will teleport). After the square brackets, instead of x, y, z, enter the coordinates of the point where we will move. I got it like this:
/tp @p 67 67 36
You cannot put a space between @p and square brackets!
What does this team do?
Using the /tp command we create our own portal. Note that we did this without mods! Fine. I’ll describe in detail what and how.
- /tp - set the command that will be executed.
- @p - sounds like " select the nearest player«.
- - this refers to the @p parameter. Those. we tell the console " choose the closest player who is at coordinates x=71,y=67,z=40. Radius 1 (r=1)". If we specified r=3, then the search for the player would be carried out at a distance from 0 to 3 blocks from the specified coordinates.
- 67 67 36 - coordinates indicating where the selected player should be teleported.
That's all. We've made the move! Now stand on the first block and you will be teleported! You can also decorate the teleporter to add atmosphere to the game.
Portal without redstone
Now I will tell you how you can make a portal without redstone. Valid only for version 1.9 and higher!
Here we have to do everything the same as in the first version, so if you haven’t read the first part, be sure to check it out! Let me briefly list our actions:
- Let's turn on creativity;
- We get the command block;
- Select the coordinates of the moving points (and write them down);
- Place the command block (can be placed anywhere);
- Right-click on it.
Now we need to configure the command block so that it works without redstone. First we enter our command:
/tp @p x y z
Don't forget to replace the values with your own.
Please note the bottom buttons. Set the following values there:
- Cyclic;
- Unconditional;
- Always active.
Click "Done." Great! We made a portal again and again without mods! Now you are a real ace in building teleports!
How and where to use such portals?
The most important thing here is to turn on your imagination. You can make a portal to the city from your home. In this case, you won’t have to run long to the villagers to bargain with them. You can use the mechanism on servers instead of warps. I like to build a lot of teleporters at home, and then when I find a village, I write down its coordinates. To date, several new versions have been released that only improve the quality of the original mod. Also paradise allows you to get the new kind resource - a heavenly hand.
After you have installed the Aether modification, to get to heaven you will need glowing stones, which are usually used to build islands. These stones usually contain ores that are used to create weapons, sacred tools, and for the production of building materials. Ambrosium is extracted from the most common rune for fuel, after which it can be used to create a healing stone from a glowing stone. There is also a small chance to get a sword and additional ambrosium for the production of building materials.
Now you need to build a portal from a luminous stone - a man-made structure consisting of several frames - in order to pass into another dimension. The contour size will be four blocks in length and six in height.
After construction is completed, the player will need water to have something to activate the passage. To do this, you need to create a bucket, fill it with water, and pour it into the portal. For it to be activated, you need to fill it completely.

Glowstone
While obtaining the first ingredient is not difficult, some difficulties arise with the luminous stone. First you need to know that glowstone dust is found exclusively in the Lower World in hard-to-reach places, namely on the ceiling. Making the task even more difficult is the frequent presence of ghasts - unfriendly mobs - in clusters of glowstone. However, they can be used to mine out-of-reach material. In rare cases, the glowstone is located slightly above the ground, in which case it is necessary to build a pillar and collect the material. Making a block from dust is quite easy. To do this, you need to place four luminous stones in the crafting window in this way: in the first and second row on the second and third cells.
Let's stock up on weapons!
Before you make a portal to heaven in Minecraft, craft yourself a sword and bow and arrows. You will need them when meeting with the evil and disturbed inhabitants of heaven. For example, flying marshmallows can be a huge problem if you don't have the necessary weapons lying around in your backpack. It is built from five blocks in height and four in width, and you need to light it in the center of this frame, after which you will have six portal blocks. How to make portals in Minecraft?
A portal is a structure that helps the player move from one place or dimension to another. There are two dimensions in the standard package: the Nether World and the Ender World. You can visit other dimensions by installing the necessary modifications. So, let's find out how to make portals in Minecraft and what we need for this.
Creating a portal to the Nether in Minecraft
In order to make a portal to Hell, you will need fourteen obsidian blocks. You can get them by finding lava in a dungeon and filling it with water. You can also mine obsidian with a diamond pickaxe. The portal to hell is four blocks wide and five blocks high. Sometimes corner blocks are not installed (to save obsidian), but the portal works fine even without them.
To activate the portal, you need to arm yourself with a lighter (crafted from silicon and a metal ingot, which, in turn, is smelted in a furnace from iron ore) and set fire to any of the obsidian blocks. The space inside the portal will acquire a texture with swirls and be colored in purple. This means that the portal can be used.
Making a portal to the End in Minecraft
Before you learn how to make an Ender Dragon portal, you will have to find a fortress, and in it - a room with a destroyed portal.
The fortress can be found using the Eye of the Edge. It is created from Ender pearls (dropped after killing an Ender wanderer) and fire powder (crafted from a fire rod that drops from Ifrit in the Hell dimension). In order to find a fortress using the Eye of the Edge, you need to pick it up and press the right mouse button. The eye will rise up and fly a little towards the portal (which is located exclusively in the fortress). You need to go in the direction where the eye flew. After a short section of the path, the eye will fall, you need to pick it up and repeat the procedure until you reach the fortress.
You will have to stock up on a few eyes, as sometimes they disappear when you fall. Once you have found the portal, you will need to activate it. To do this, insert the missing End Eyes into the empty slots of the frame.
Creating a portal to Paradise in Minecraft
This portal works with the AetherMod modification. To make a portal to Paradise, you will need fourteen blocks of glowing stones (obtained with a pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch or by combining four units of glowing dust, which falls out when a glowing stone is destroyed in the Nether dimension) and a bucket of water. The bucket is created from three metal ingots, and there should be no problems finding sources of water. The frame of the portal to Heaven is created according to the same principle as the portal to Hell, and then water is poured inside.
