Many of us have to face the problem of choosing a school for our children. Often parents have to transfer their child from one school to another. The reasons for this may include: extortion of money supposedly for the needs of the school, conflicts with the director, and ever-increasing cases of assault by teachers. In this regard, the thought of a private school involuntarily comes to mind, but there is no complete confidence that a child there will still be able to receive a decent education, and the price is steep (about $10,000 per year)…

Which school to choose: private or public? According to a study by Topschools (a Begin Group company), among those who chose a private school, 67% believed that they did the right thing, but 42% considered their experience a bad one. Not around public education There are a lot of rumors circulating, and those who have never encountered private schools are suspicious of them. What exactly is a Russian private school and how does it work? And can this be called a business?

The first private schools began to be created in Moscow in the early 90s and took the form of cooperatives. After the Law “On Education” was adopted in 1992, these institutions were assigned the official status of NOU (non-state educational institution).

In accordance with the law, non-profit organizations are non-profit enterprises. Consequently, there are certain restrictions for them regarding economic activities and profit distribution. Income items for a private school include entrance and monthly fees, sponsorship, government subsidies, and grants.

Many experts argue that a private school can hardly be called a business.

Very often people open a private school, but not at all for profit, but so that their own children can receive an education there. There are also companies, such as Gazprom, for example, that open schools for the children of their employees, without requiring excess income from them, and even subsidizing them.

This “business” needs government support like air; without it, it simply would not be able to survive. The rent at which the school is provided with premises is much lower than the market price. Previously, however, material support was unstable, but not so long ago in Moscow they introduced standards for financing non-state schools. Now, knowing the number of students, it is possible to calculate the amount of funds allocated down to the penny.

Until recently, private schools had considerable tax benefits. But amendments to the law “On Education” and a new Tax Code came out, which deprived non-state educational institutions of basic tax privileges. Now she must pay tax on profits (if any), land and property - just like, for example, oil companies and banks. The only good news is that private schools are exempt from VAT.

NOUs receive government support, but it cannot be said that they receive great care. IN Lately Officials have at least become accustomed to the existence of private schools, whereas in the past they were often shocked by this.

“Veterans” of school business working in the private market school education For 10-15 years, as a rule, they own the premises. This allows them to significantly develop their equipment and provides some guarantees of stability. You can invest money in renovating a rented premises if the lease term is at least 10 years, otherwise it is not worth doing. However, nowadays it is rare that any landlord is willing to enter into an agreement for such a long period.

It's not easy for schools renting premises right now. There are cases when schools were “thrown out” of the rented building in the most brazen manner, even before the expiration of the contract.

The lack of ownership rights to the premises is one of the main restrictions for this type of activity. Even those schools that have been relatively lucky with their lease terms complain of a feeling of instability.

If the authorities suddenly need the premises of former kindergartens, then first of all private schools are kicked out. In addition, the preferential rental rate, canceled in 2006, hit the NOU hard. And prices for education in private schools immediately jumped by 30-40%.

The number of private schools in Moscow remains stable from year to year. This is due to the fact that some schools are closing, while others are starting to open. The market for private school education in Moscow, according to many, is not yet saturated, but this business still attracts few people.

And the point here is not so much the difficulty of obtaining a license, but rather the choice of premises suitable for educational needs. To obtain a license, it must meet all the requirements of Rospotrebnadzor, fire safety and licensing conditions, approved, by the way, back in 1993.

Although the conditions for obtaining a license themselves are devoid of any cavils, experts say.

It is important to note that the tuition fees set by schools are not taken out of the blue.

The laws of the market rule here. One school's tuition might be $500 a month, another's $2,000, and that doesn't necessarily mean there's a big difference in the quality of education. However, there is a price limit below which it is no longer possible to obtain a decent education. After all, good teachers will not work for an idea for free. By the way, it is wages that can become a criterion in determining the quality of education in a school.

What is the minimum cost of studying at a private school in Moscow, without losing the quality of knowledge? Experts call the amount 15 thousand rubles per month.

The specifics of education also place demands on school administrators. The director is always between two fires. In order to have the right to issue a state certificate, you must meet state standards. Parents, in turn, demand something completely different: more English, drama, economics, computer skills. You have to please both of them, carefully thinking through the program. The activities of private schools depend on demand, but the market requires one thing, and the ministry demands another. So you have to be flexible when making decisions.

A private school also requires high quality teaching. Finding qualified specialists is quite difficult. Moreover, a high salary is not a universal remedy, although in some cases it helps. Teachers at non-state educational institutions are much closer to parents and their children, this is facilitated by constant meetings at which it is explained where fees are spent: monthly and entrance fees (their value ranges from 30 to 60 thousand rubles)

The head of the school can be either a director-teacher or a non-teacher. Which is better is still unknown. The director must also be a communicator, marketer, entrepreneur, and even partly a politician. For the effective functioning of an educational institution, investments are needed. But only the teacher understands what kind of investment this should be. A manager whose goal is only financial return and cost reduction will not achieve success, but rather the opposite. Parents are ready to pay for something significant, and this is not only household services and good food, but also academic success. And this is much more difficult to provide than four meals a day.

However, the opposite also happens. Teachers have a lot of first-class ideas, but... they simply don’t know how to make money and they’re not good managers. In this case, the school is also doomed to close. Thus, a successful leader is one who is ready to invest and knows how to earn money.

Every year, schools have to pass some kind of exams to the parents of students. There is competition between schools for a profitable client. We have to build a certain image for parents: victories at competitions and festivals, participation in Olympiads, number of medals, high-tech equipment, landscaping. Many schools have swimming pools, gyms, three to five meals a day and even theaters and courts. Parents also strive to protect their children from the influence of bad company. Therefore, many schools look not only at the solvency, but also at the adequacy of children and their parents.

Parents choose a school based on the following criteria:

School reputation (57%)

Teacher qualifications (55%)

Close to home (43%)

1. Project summary

Objective of the project– opening of a non-state educational institution (NOU), providing services in primary general and secondary general education in a city with a population of more than 1 million people. According to Russian legislation, the activities of non-profit educational institutions relate to non-profit organizations, therefore the purpose of profit is to expand activities and pursue the mission of developing education in the region.

The project involves the creation of a paid private school (half board), which is a comprehensive format, including a primary school (grades 1-4), a secondary school (grades 5-9), as well as courses in English, preparation courses for the Unified State Examination and the Unified State Examination, sections. The advantages of the project include the presence of its own building, and, therefore, the absence of rent as an expense item, which for competing establishments can amount to up to half of the entire budget. Potential clients of the school are children of parents with a high level of income who want to provide their children with a decent future, as well as children for some reason who are inconvenient for a public school (speech therapy problems, developmental delays, etc.).

Demand The project is explained by the need to improve the quality of educational services in the country. In the face of a loss of trust in public educational institutions, parents' preference is increasingly leaning towards private schools with an individual approach to the student and an emphasis on learning foreign languages mainly English.

The main educational services of non-state educational institutions include:

1. Primary general education

2. Secondary general education

3. Preparatory courses for the Unified State Exam and the Unified State Exam

4. English language courses

5. Dance, choreography, vocal classes

The cost of the project will be 14,530,000 rubles, of which 10,530,000 will be the initial investment in the opening, and 4,000,000 rubles. – working capital. To implement the project, it will be necessary to raise borrowed funds in the amount of RUB 2,000,000. The loan is issued for a period of 24 months. The loan rate is 22%. Deferred payment of payments - 3 months. The volume of own funds will be 12,530,000 rubles. or 86% of the required amount.

*data for 3 years of operation

The project is planned to be implemented within 9 months. The start of activities of the non-state educational institution is planned for September 2016.

2. Description of the industry and company

The concept of free public education is increasingly losing the trust of parents. Poor quality educational services, low degree of immersion in the subject due to the need to constantly slow down the educational process in order to catch up with lagging students, incompetence of schools in preparing for the Unified State Exam (USE) and further education in prestigious educational institutions - these are just some of the factors for choosing in favor of private education. Often, parents also give preference to a non-state school due to the characteristics of their child, for example, speech therapy problems, physical disabilities, and developmental delays. The number of private schools in Russia does not exceed 1%. They are mainly located in Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, as well as in cities with a population of over a million. The level of competition in this market is minimal.

The company is a private comprehensive school (half board), which provides services in primary general education, secondary general education, and also conducts additional classes in preparation for school, English language courses, preparation for the Unified State Exam (USE) and the main state exam ( OGE). Classes are held in small groups of up to 8-10 people. The maximum number of students in the school (excluding additional education) is 150 people. Educational process It is based on individual approach to each student, in-depth study of all subjects. Full board with additional education includes training from 8.00 to 18.30 hours.

Classes are taught by qualified teachers exclusively with higher education, including teachers of the first and second categories. The number of teaching staff is 15 people. Of them full-time employees– 10, part-time workers – 10. Total number There are 26 employees of the institution. The school is open from Monday to Friday from 8 to 18.30 from September to June. Additional individual and group classes are offered on Saturday and Sunday.

The area of the school premises is 1500 square meters. meters. The building has two above-ground floors and one ground floor. The number of classrooms is 9. The school is equipped with a computer room, a music room, a gym, and a dining room. The functions of ensuring the safety of children are provided by a security guard.

The organizational and legal form of the school is a non-state educational institution (NOU). Since NOU is a non-profit organization, the profit received is distributed to expand activities, improve the quality of services provided: purchasing new equipment, opening new classes, attracting teachers from higher educational institutions to open new disciplines. The taxation system is simplified (STS).

3. Description of services

The private school organizes education from grades 1 to 9. The core subjects of the institution are physics and mathematics, which are studied in the most in-depth. Particular attention is paid to learning English, which is a response to one of the most common requirements of parents. Children from 7 to 15 years old are taught in small groups of 3 to 8 people with the same level of knowledge. The courses are taught according to the methods of US universities. The study is being conducted on several main aspects, including colloquial speech, writing, grammar, reading. The training is aimed at removing the so-called conversational language barrier, the ability to clearly and understandably express one’s thoughts and think in English. In contrast to the result of studying at school, when the graduate speaks only “English with a dictionary,” studying at a private school aims to achieve a specific result, for example, further study abroad, moving abroad for permanent residence. Students are given practical advice on preparing for the TOEFL, GRE, SAT, GMAT exams.

The school also offers courses in preparation for the Unified State Exam and Unified State Exam in the following subjects: social studies, physics, mathematics, Russian, chemistry, and English. Since the work of the school is aimed at comprehensive development child and the disclosure of creative potential, active attention is paid to additional classes (piano, vocals, dancing). Unlike school classes, students are given health exercises. The cost of training includes three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner). In addition to all of the above, the institution is working with preschoolers to prepare for the educational process. A complete list of services with prices is presented in Table. 1.

The price segment of the school is average with high quality, which is confirmed by the qualifications of the teaching staff.

The activities of a private school are regulated by the Law “On Education”, as well as the following regulatory documents: Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation "On approval of the Rules for the provision of paid educational services"; Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation "On approval of the Model Regulations on a General Educational Institution"; Order on the procedure for certification of teaching staff; SanPiN 2.4.2.2821-10; Technical regulations on fire safety requirements; Federal Law No. 7 "On Non-Profit Organizations".

The organizational and legal form of the school is a non-state educational institution (NOU). According to Russian legislation, educational activities are subject to mandatory licensing, which is carried out by the state educational authority of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation. The cost of the state duty since 2015 is 7.5 thousand rubles. The period for consideration of an application for a license is 2 months. Codes according to the OKVED classifier – 80.10.1, 80.10.2, 80.10.3., 80.21.1.

After the first graduation of students, but not earlier than 3 years after receiving a license, the institution has the right to apply to the Ministry of Education to obtain state certification for subsequent accreditation and issuance of state-issued documents to students. Before undergoing accreditation, graduates of the institution have the opportunity to take external exams at another educational institution that has passed accreditation. In addition to the license to conduct educational activities, to open a medical office in a school you will need a medical license.

4. Sales and marketing

The private education market in Russia has emerged since the early 90s. According to market research, the number of private schools remains approximately at the same level. So, if in 1998 there were 520 schools, by 2010 their number was about 550. This is due to the fact that closed schools are being replaced by new ones. The share of non-state educational institutions in Russia is estimated at around 1%. Among the factors slowing down the development of private education in Russia are the high level of school costs for rent, the weak level of state support for socially responsible businesses, and the abolition of tax benefits.

Today, the city in question has about 35 private educational institutions. Among them there are kindergartens, private schools, and institutions that combine several types of activities. Given the generally low level of competition, each establishment strives to occupy a certain niche. When choosing the specifications for this project, two factors were decisive: parental demand, as well as trends in the domestic labor market. According to the first factor, emphasis was placed on in-depth study of the English language and targeted preparation of students for passing the Unified State Exam in this subject, as well as for passing foreign exams. According to the second factor, it was decided to focus on in-depth study of physics and mathematics due to the noticeable shortage of qualified specialists in technical specialties in the country.

Ready ideas for your business

Thus, the educational schedule is formed by groups of three types: groups from the physics and mathematics direction, groups of in-depth study of the English language, groups of additional education. It is the school’s specialization, as well as the quality of the services provided, that is the main way to attract clients. Before enrolling in courses, the child and parents undergo a survey procedure to more fully understand the level of knowledge of the former and take into account the wishes of the latter.

At the start of activities, to attract the first clients, it is planned advertising company in the media (television and print), and an interview with the director of a private school about the opening of a new institution. According to opinion polls, parents choose a school based on the following criteria: school reputation (57%), teacher qualifications (55%), proximity to home (43%), reviews from friends (35%), material resources (11%). Due to the fact that at the start of its activities it is not appropriate for an institution to talk about its reputation, the emphasis on introductory media materials is planned to be on the development plans and mission of the new institution, the main pain points modern public education, which will be overcome in the process of activity, teaching methods.

On the Internet, the private school will be represented by an official website, where parents will be able to find comprehensive information about the school, teachers, the mission of the school, its educational programs, and ask questions that interest them through electronic form. Information on prices for educational services will also be publicly available on the school’s website. The cost of the opening promotion, taking into account the creation of the website, will be 70 thousand rubles.

5. Production plan

Geographically, the private school is located in a large residential area of the city, in direct access to public transport. The bus stop is 300 meters away. Half-board classes run from Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 18.30 from September to June, with additional classes and courses available on Saturday and Sunday from 9.00 to 21.00. IN summer time enrollment in additional education groups (intensive courses) is expanding.

To repair and equip the building, as well as equip the local area, 10.5 million rubles will be needed. The building area is 1500 sq. m. meters. The area of classrooms is 400 sq. meters, the number of classrooms is 10, which fits into the accepted standards for the number of square meters. meters per student (from 2.5-3.5 square meters per student). The costs of equipping the school are shown in Table. 2. In addition to the above expenses, the purchase of equipment for the courtyard area and the installation of a fire alarm are provided.

Management functions are assigned to the director (project founder) and the deputy for educational and methodological work. The full-time teaching staff is represented by 10 teachers (see Table 3). Another 5 teachers of the school (a teacher of Russian language and literature, a teacher of history and social studies, a choreographer teacher, a physics teacher and a mathematics teacher), as well as a speech therapist and a psychologist, work part-time. Also, the school has on staff to meet the needs of students nurse, cooks and school canteen employees, caretaker, cleaner, security guard.

Table 3. Staffing and wage fund

Current period costs include salaries for teachers and other employees, purchasing food for the school canteen, maintaining the building and paying for utilities.

6. Organizational plan

The planned launch period for the project is 9 months. The start of activities is scheduled for the beginning of the academic year - September 2016.

The management of the educational institution is carried out by the school director, who has the right, within the limits of his competence, to give binding instructions to any employee or student. The director carries out general management of all areas of the school’s activities in accordance with the Charter of the institution and the laws of the Russian Federation. He is responsible for strategic planning, school development, and setting goals and objectives. The director approves and implements educational programs, curricula, courses, disciplines, annual calendar educational schedules, carries out personnel selection and determines job responsibilities employees.

The deputy director for educational work reports directly to the school director. His responsibilities include the organization and long-term planning of school activities, the educational process and methodological work, coordinating the work of teachers to implement curricula, developing educational, methodological and other documentation necessary for the activities of the school, drawing up reporting documentation, educational work with parents, monitoring and analysis of the educational process, etc.

The functions of providing educational services are performed by teachers. Requirements to teaching staff schools are not only about having a state diploma higher education and the proper level of qualifications, but also the presence of qualities necessary for work, which are not always required in government agencies: communication skills, the ability to find an approach to each child and parents, a high level of personal responsibility, initiative.

7. Financial plan

The costs of the preparatory period include: repair and redevelopment of the premises - 4,837,000 rubles; equipment of the school yard territory - 1,500,000 rubles, school equipment - 4,063,000 rubles, creation of an official website - 30,000, obtaining permits - 60,000 rubles, advertising campaign for the opening - 40,000 rubles.

Costs of the main period include: salaries of school staff (including social contributions), school maintenance and payment of utilities, purchase of food for the school canteen - at the rate of 210 rubles. for 1 student per day, telephone and Internet. Appendix 1 shows the main financial indicators for revenue, cash flow and net profit for a five-year period. Calculations are made based on loading into the first academic year 50%, second year – 85%, third and subsequent years – 90%.

8. Project effectiveness assessment

Opening a private school will require a high level of start-up costs, which is due to the large amount of repair work and the need to purchase a large list of equipment, including at least 32 items. The payback period for the project will be 32 months from the date of opening. The discounted payback period is 38 months. Project effectiveness indicators calculated for a five-year period are given in Table. 4.

Table 4. Project performance indicators

9. Risks and guarantees

Unlike most similar projects, the project of this private school does not fall into the category of a high-risk educational business. One of its main advantages is the availability of premises and the absence of rent. The absence of this expense item allows us to pay more attention to the material support of the school, invest in improving the educational process, attracting new personnel, and purchasing modern equipment. However economic activity School management requires the ability to competently distribute available funds, anticipate new possible expenses, and respond flexibly to the market situation and changes in legislation.

As the school's recognition grows and certain tangible results are achieved, it is possible to increase average prices for services by up to 20-30% without significant negative changes in the elasticity of demand. The main risks are reflected in Table. 5.

Table 5. Assessment of project risks and measures to prevent their occurrence or their consequences

If you are an expert in your field, have the appropriate qualifications and work experience, then you should think about opening your own training center. Moreover, large investments for...

There is probably no teacher who would not dream of opening a private school. Some parents and, of course, children dream of their own school. Their fantasies bear little resemblance to real life educational institution.

But even teachers who have worked in a regular school all their lives have little idea of how to open a private school, what it is for, and what hardships they will have to go through.

Teachers are usually bad managers, so for the successful functioning of such an institution, both are needed.

Opening a private school: three reasons

A private school is not considered by everyone as a business that generates income. Statistical research show that in Russia there are three main reasons for their discovery.

  • Some businessmen are trying to open a school not to make a profit, but so that the children of the founders receive a decent education. Such parents finance the educational institution themselves. It often happens that after the founders’ children graduate, the school slowly dies.
  • Large companies often open closed schools in which only the children of employees study. These establishments also do not generate income, and most often are completely subsidized by the founders. Similar establishments in Russia and abroad are maintained by Gazprom and some other business giants. Purpose of training: obtaining education at the European level, preparing a reserve for your company.
  • Only a third of private schools are opened so that children can receive a decent education, and the founders and teachers can receive the same profit.

Where to begin?

If we consider the school as a business project that generates profit, we will have to start with a market analysis. First you will have to think not about how to create a private school, but about what kind of educational institution the city lacks and what it should be like.

General words and vague goals like “to provide quality education” are fundamentally wrong. The goal, which must be set immediately after the market analysis, as well as the entire business plan of the school, must be extremely specific. Here's a good example.

  • Short-term goal: creating a recognizable own name, entering the private school market, return on investment (or making a profit).
  • Long term goals:
    • creation of a network of schools;
    • expansion of the services market;
    • creating a base for preparing for international exams;
    • establishing connections with universities;
    • Creation kindergarten as a link preceding school.

The goals may be different, but no less specific. There is such a pattern: before you understand how to open a private school, you need to learn how to set goals.

What makes one school different from another?

Many of those who wanted to open “their own” educational institution made a mistake at the very beginning, trying to open a private school as an end in itself.

It should differ from those already opened not only by the level of education, but also by original author’s methods, additional courses, and an educational process that is not similar to others.

When thinking about how to open a private school in Russia, the founder must clearly understand: a good school skillfully combines adherence to established standards and all the wishes of parents. Not every manager or teacher can do this. That is why the staff of such an institution should not only include teachers, administrators and psychologists.

If the founder wants to open a school to make a profit, he must include managers, economists, analysts, marketers, and entrepreneurs on the staff.

Naturally, the institution’s budget, which consists of 80% parental money, will not withstand such a load. And then the director or founder will have to decide who will cope with the responsibilities of these specialists.

All these thoughts should be formed into the school’s business plan and its Charter.

Where does opening a private school begin?

Once the goals are defined, and worthy employees have appeared in mind, you can move on to the basics: start opening a private school in real life, and not on paper. First, a legal entity is registered and an individual entrepreneur is opened.

Open an account, receive a stamp and begin obtaining a License. And here is the first difficulty.

A license to open a private school is issued only when the Founder provides:

  • Permission (duly executed) from all authorities.
  • Staffing schedule.
  • Schedule of lessons.
  • Software (meaning school programs, not computer programs).

The process of collecting these documents takes a very long time, and this should be taken into account.

At the same time, you can look for a building, remembering that it must not only meet the requirements of the authorities, but also have its own parking lot: most students are brought by their parents.

If at this stage the businessman is still thinking about how to open a private school, he can start equipping it and choosing educational programs.

About programs, textbooks and chairs

The question is no less important than thinking about how to open a private school without outside help. You can take standard programs, but then such an institution will be in little demand. It is better to develop them yourself, taking into account existing standards and requirements.

Therefore, the Founder will have to take care of a methodologist who can check all the documents before submitting them to the Ministry.

Then it will be necessary to purchase the necessary textbooks, manuals, manuals, etc. This means that already at this stage the issue of financing will have to be resolved.

Not only economists and methodologists, but also business executives should worry about how to open a private school. They are the ones who buy furniture, provide repairs, and form the technical base. It would be good if the staff were recruited through a competition: best school We need the best workers.

Where to find teachers and how to attract them?

When the question of how to open a private school comes up on the agenda, the project organizers begin to look for good teachers.

They (but not only them) will become the basis of the new educational institution.

Many recruit teachers through competition, but not many know how to choose the right incentive for a teacher.

The salary, which, naturally, should be an order of magnitude higher than in regular schools, does not attract everyone.

Some teachers value the opportunity to work according to their programs, others like to experiment.

Therefore, before inviting a teacher to a competition, the leader should find out as much as possible about him.

Teachers do more than just teach lessons.

IN free time they should teach children dance and music, computer science, economics, everything that the children like and that will be included in the curriculum of the educational institution.

Opening a private school requires not only good teachers, but responsible technical staff who love children. This too should not be forgotten.

Sample outline of a business plan

Opening a private school should start with a business plan. It can be composed in different ways. Here is a short diagram of one of the most successful options.

  • The plan begins with a statement of the essence of the project, for example, “the creation of a full-cycle private school for grades 1-11.”
  • In second place are the short-term and long-term goals set for the school.
  • Indicate the time frame within which the project will be calculated and implemented.
  • Marketing description. This section specifies in detail what educational services will be provided, sources of funding, and the total cost of the project.
  • Advantages of this educational institution. Usually here they indicate the ability to change the number of subject hours at the request of students, atypical subjects, proprietary methods, etc.
  • Project risks. When amateur founders think about how to open a private school in Russia, these risks are not always taken into account. But they are the ones who can not only make a future business unprofitable, but also lead to the closure of the school. Risks include: a decrease in demand for education due to the crisis, the opening of competing institutions, etc.

We continue to create a business plan

The second section of the plan should be devoted to a description of the proposed services.

It is necessary not only to explain in detail why children will study these particular subjects, but also to indicate how this study will be different from the same work in other schools.

It is mandatory to indicate the educational orientation of the future school: “Organization of clubs to identify and develop students’ talent.” In this section it is worth defining the pricing concept.

Since not all schools can maintain stable prices for years, some leaders report that the plan is to “set tuition costs at the level of competitors, but lower than at elite schools.”

The third section should be marketing plan. It starts with positioning the uniqueness of the school and continues with the pricing policy. Here you can specify the procedure for admitting students.

Financial justification for the project

The following sections of the business plan could be:

  • School capacity plan.
  • Legal status.
  • Management policy and structure.
  • Analysis of planned costs.
  • Complete financial plan.
  • Organizational plan for the implementation of the planned project.

It is good if the business plan is accompanied by diagrams, tables and diagrams. Quite appropriate, for example, would be:

  • Diagrams showing the age of children, the number of additional subjects studied, children's interests, etc.
  • Financial and time tables indicating costs, deadlines, ratings, schedules.
  • Diagrams clearly showing the management structure.

What should a future businessman take into account?

How to open a private school in Russia to make a profit? If such a question occurs to someone, then the entrepreneur should know: no way.

There is only one way to legally collect money: tuition fees, strictly fixed by agreement. It is impossible to turn a school into a closed joint stock company.

She must spend all the money she receives on herself. Private schools can enjoy preferential taxation, but it is worth opening your own production (printing house, greenhouse, etc.)

d) how it will be cancelled.

The next nuance will be more interesting to parents. An educational institution can operate without accreditation if the documents for it are in production.

However, in this case, graduates may have difficulties with the final exams, which they will have to take at a public school.

The future entrepreneur should also take into account the fact that in a private school there are more checks and commissions: in our country people are still distrustful of this type of business.

Parents and money

The success of a private school also depends on its capacity. Research shows that today only 20% of parents are willing to pay for education.

Therefore, in order to attract students to a new school, the principal will have to convince their mothers and fathers that the education received at this school is worth paying for. This is difficult to do.

Therefore, regardless of whether a manager or teacher runs a school, he must be able to:

  • Understand the requirements of parents and popular areas of study.
  • Be an excellent speaker, be able to convince (sponsors, management, parents).
  • Create a positive image of the school using word of mouth, the Internet, and any other popular types of advertising.
  • Understand the psychology of children, parents, sponsors, etc.
  • Build the right financial policy.

Private non-comprehensive schools

A comprehensive school is not the only type of private educational institution. Private music, sports, art, and dance schools are very popular. How to open a further education school?

The scheme of this process is similar to that described above. You will also have to analyze the market, calculate the demand for services, draw up a business plan for a private school and approve programs.

Narrowly targeted private institutions are not an alternative, but an addition to regular, public ones.

Their task should be not only to develop the talents of children (which goes without saying), but also to educate them, to protect them from negative influence environment.

We choose, we are chosen

Private schools take exams every year. It's not about state exams, but about those that parents accept.

They choose a school among competing institutions, so teachers have to constantly create an image.

Winning competitions, early admission to universities, landscaping, high-tech equipment - these are the tools with which you can influence parents. But…

only adequate parents are interested in serious education, and not in getting grades for money. Therefore, when accepting children to school, you should pay attention not only to the wealth of the family, but also to its adequacy.

How can you open a private school?

Search for school premises

Private schools are becoming fashionable, but due to the fact that they are more focused on making a profit, their quality leaves much to be desired.

Only a little more than half of the parents who sent their children to such institutions did not regret the money spent.

Others felt that private schools were not worth the money.

This is no coincidence.

Such a business should be built around the idea of giving children the best education, which will allow them not only to cope effectively and at a high level with the secondary school curriculum, but also to master additional subjects that will help with admission or in life. Parents of such children should feel the real benefits of their child attending a private school rather than a regular one. This will be the key point that will ensure the school’s capacity.

A private school business plan must include 3 important conditions:

  1. Separate building for the project.
  2. Developed our own original methodological program, which is aimed at high student results.
  3. Investments, especially for the initial period

The premises of a former kindergarten would be ideal.

It will accommodate 150-200 students, with enough small size, does not require very large costs for utilities, has its own territory. In addition, it can be rented from the state, which means the rental amount will not be huge.

You need to try hard to find and rent it. There are several options, namely:

  • rent from private individuals;
  • rent from the state;
  • buy from the state or private individuals;
  • rent land and build educational buildings.

Each of these methods has its positive or negative sides. For example, leasing from the state is fraught with the risk that if the municipal government needs this building, it may terminate the contract early. You can resort to the following option:

  • rent land plot in the suburbs or outside the city;
  • build a school on it from modular structures;
  • build a school dormitory from modular structures.

In this case, the business plan of a private school will provide for the presence of children on the territory of the educational institution for the entire working week.

It is not necessary to provide for the delivery of children to such a school.

Since education is not cheap, parents are able to independently arrange for the arrival and departure of students.

For construction it is better to use modular structures. They are several times cheaper, and appearance will correspond to a modern educational institution.

Whatever method is chosen, to the common man You won’t be able to solve the problem of premises for pennies from the street.

Even if it is possible to rent a former kindergarten from the state, in which communications are in good condition, at least 3 million rubles must be provided for repairs and furniture.

But on average, for such a project it will be necessary to spend at least 15 million rubles just to resolve the issue of premises.

How to reduce project costs

It is necessary to decide on the issue of reducing your own costs for starting a project even when you are just creating a business plan for a private school.

Set some tangible end result as a goal: to provide highly trained students who will then go to study and work in some specific areas.

There are even teachers at prestigious universities that train personnel for important areas of the state: diplomats, managers, designers, military, etc.

They complain that high school prepares children very poorly.

If local authorities, the management of universities and large enterprises are presented with the idea of improving quality schooling, this can give a positive response.

As a result, tangible assistance will be provided to the project. For example, the municipal government can allocate some premises on very good preferential terms. Interested enterprises and institutions can finance repairs and pay for the purchase of furniture.

The mere fact that they are interested in future graduates of a private school potential employers, will create a stir and a queue of parents who want to enroll their own children in it. A competent approach at the planning stage and the ability to demonstrate the benefits of the project will allow you to seriously save your own money on opening a private school.

Accreditation and maintenance costs

Before opening an institution, it is necessary not only to build and equip the premises, but also to obtain permission for teaching activities.

Only after this does it make sense to engage in construction, purchase furniture and everything necessary.

To obtain this permission, it is necessary to submit study programs to the relevant education department.

In practice, it turns out that the first students of private schools take the exam twice: in the institution where they study, and then in a regular secondary school.

To successfully cope with the paperwork, it is recommended to hire good teachers who have experience working as a deputy director for academic affairs. It will not be difficult for them to prepare everything they need; they already know all the bureaucratic nuances, pitfalls and ways to get around them.

Please note that for a school with 150-200 students, a teaching staff of at least 30 people will be needed. Their wages should start from 30 tr. per month. We also need service personnel and security.

The wage fund is about 2 million rubles per month. Rent and public utilities range from 600 thousand to 1.5 million rubles.

Taking into account unforeseen expenses, you need to expect that the educational institution will cost 3-3.5 million rubles or more per month.

If we take the figure of 3.5 million rubles as a basis. and that there are 200 students in the school, tuition fees cannot be less than 17.5 tr. Payment of 25 tr. will bring a monthly profit of 1.4 million rubles.

In one academic year, lasting 9 months, you can return 12.5 million of the initial investment.

The value of private schools lies in the fact that their preparation is focused on admission to prestigious universities, and taking into account the fact that private kindergartens cost parents 15-20 tr. per month, the indicated cost is quite adequate.

How to open a private school

Educational activity always remains the most popular and necessary sector in our lives. But parents are not always satisfied with the level of general education institutions, and then they start an alternative for their children - private schools.

On this moment Such educational institutions are becoming increasingly popular, so the number of offers is growing according to demand.

Although opening a private school is exciting and interesting activity, this type of business involves many nuances and complexities.

Experts note that to open a private educational institution, three conditions must be met:

  1. Such a project requires independent and sufficiently powerful sources of funding. Since parents can only pay 80% of the costs, investors must provide the rest.
  2. A separate building with sufficient territory is required.
  3. It is highly desirable to have your own methodology in the education and upbringing system. Original idea- the so-called 'trick' - will significantly help the development of the school.

The process of opening a private school is quite complex. Briefly, it looks like this: the first step is to obtain permission to teach.

Details about this procedure can be found in the district department of public education.

  • Those who are counting on quick profits should also not start such a project: the only legal way to make money at a private school is to charge tuition fees (about $500 per student).
  • A school cannot be turned into a closed joint stock company and a savings account for profits cannot be opened or shares sold. The educational institution must spend all funds received on itself.
  • We must also remember that state accreditation a private school will not receive it immediately, so the first students will take exams twice - at the school itself and at a state educational institution.

Private schools also have advantages:

  • In accordance with the wishes of students and their parents, the curriculum and number of hours may change
  • Teaching methods in such institutions are aimed at developing communication skills in children, leadership qualities And business activity.
  • The list of subjects studied may include dance, vocals, and vocals that are not typical for regular schools. Italian language etc.
  • In addition to one or two foreign required languages, in private schools two more are studied as electives.
  • Successful private schools focus on prestigious universities, so students study according to special program designed to prepare for admission to a particular higher educational institution.

Note!

* Due to frequent changes in legislation, information sometimes becomes outdated faster than we can update it on the site.

* All cases are very individual and depend on many factors. Basic information does not guarantee a solution to your specific problems.

That's why FREE expert consultants work for you around the clock!

Basics

First, you need to analyze the market for educational services in your region, develop a charter for a future private school, and draw up a business plan.

The second step is to open legal entity or individual entrepreneur indicating educational services as the type of activity. You also need to open a bank account and register a seal. The main point is to obtain a license.

She is being extradited government bodies, for example, the Department of Education. Documents for obtaining a license are listed on the websites of government organizations.

Obtaining a license is a complex and lengthy process, because it is issued only to those who already have a schedule and a team of teachers, and have permission from all authorities.

Room

The best premises for a private school may be the premises of a former kindergarten - this is a separate building in a separate territory. Such buildings are most often found in residential areas.

But it is worth remembering that a private school also needs parking, since most private school students are brought by car.

It is important to design the premises in accordance with all the requirements of the fire and sanitary services.

Training programs and equipment

You can develop training programs yourself or use existing ones. They must be compiled by specialists and approved by the Ministry of Education.

It is also necessary to purchase the necessary equipment and furniture, educational and scientific materials, textbooks, manuals, manuals, etc.

To form a library, you can enter into agreements with one or more publishing houses.

Staff

Teachers must be recruited through competition, because a private school requires the highest level of qualifications. Private school teachers must not only have a high level of knowledge and teaching experience, but also be able and love to work with children.

In addition to the main teachers, you may also need teachers for additional classes, for example, choreographers or musicians. You will also need medical staff, an accountant, an administrator, cleaners, and security.

If the educational institution plans to provide meals to students, then a cook and kitchen staff will be needed.

Advertising

At first, a private educational institution will need advertising more than ever. One way to attract students is a website where you can study in detail the concept of schooling, its advantages and prospects.

You can also submit an announcement about the opening of a new school to local media and print publications. Since an important factor when choosing a school is its reputation, you should not immediately count on a large number of students.

Over time, when the institution becomes well known, there will be no problems with enrollment of students.

To attract as many students as possible, a private school should develop its own proprietary programs, while not forgetting the standard curriculum of secondary schools.

Results

The main cost items when opening a private school are:

  1. Registration of a legal entity
  2. Rent and renovation of suitable premises
  3. Creation of comfortable conditions (purchase of equipment, furniture and inventory)
  4. Salary to employees
  5. Advertising and website creation (promotion)
  6. Current expenses
  7. Development of new curricula and purchase of training material

A private school's income may consist of:

  • Monthly tuition fee (70%)
  • Grants (15-20%)
  • Entry fees (3-7%)
  • Paid additional classes (2-5%)

On average, the profit of a private school is 3-7 thousand USD, but most of it has to be spent on developing new programs, organizing studies, and covering unexpected expenses.

Open a business | How to open a private children's school, what documents are needed?

Organizing a private educational institution is a business that has many difficulties. To open a private school, you need to go through many difficult stages, prepare a lot of documents and take care of various nuances. But if everything is done correctly, the result will not take long to arrive.

This business should only be undertaken by those who understand well what a private school is - an institution that provides educational services in accordance with state standards, but may also have a number of unique courses. All this is offered for a fee.

At the same time, a private educational institution is usually small (150-200 people), up to 15 schoolchildren study in classes, and it can work not the required 8 hours a day, but much more (for example, from 8:00 to 21:00).

Also, such a school must have a well-developed infrastructure - a good gym, swimming pool, computer classes, etc.

If you want to open a private music school, then it should present modern and high-quality musical instruments and classrooms with excellent facilities for mastering a variety of skills.

In addition, a private school always means the presence of highly qualified staff who teach using special methods.

At the same time, the program should not only teach certain subjects, but also instill in students communication skills, business activity, leadership and other qualities that are important in the modern world.

So, you can open a private school that will teach the basics of business, foreign languages, law, theater arts, linguistics, etc.

And, of course, a private school must offer its students food services (sometimes even full board) and leisure activities. Graduates should be able to take the Unified State Exam on the basis of their educational institution and enter universities without unnecessary difficulties.

To organize such work, you need not only documents for opening a private school, but also full compliance of the institution’s work with the existing regulatory framework - the law on education, the Government Decree on the provision of paid educational services, the Order on the procedure for the certification of teachers, and the Model Regulations on a General Education Institution. You will also need to achieve compliance with all the rules established by the sanitary station, fire inspection, SanPiN, etc.

All this must be approved by relevant documents, and among them are:

  1. Certificate of registration of a non-profit organization (private schools cannot be for-profit). An individual entrepreneur can also open a private school - an entrepreneur can work alone or with the help of hired personnel. In any case, taxation can be simplified.
  2. License to conduct educational activities - it will confirm that the school meets all regulatory requirements
  3. Accreditation (passed voluntarily) and allows you to determine the status of the institution, gives it the right to issue state-issued certificates

Accreditation is issued only five years after the school starts operating, and once accredited, the institution becomes eligible to receive government financial assistance.

Is private education profitable?

rubles monthly). Moreover, there is also an entrance fee for parents, which can range from 50 to 700 thousand rubles (depending on the school, its location, work characteristics, etc.).

However, most of these funds will be spent on teachers' salaries, operating expenses, the purchase of new equipment and, in general, everything that is needed to open a private school and maintain its work at a given level.

The main costs, in general, are:

  • 15-20 thousand rubles – to obtain a license
  • 85 thousand - for utility bills
  • 80-90 thousand – for meals for students
  • 600-700 thousand - for teachers’ salaries and updating the educational base
  • 1 million – for the purchase of equipment for the school, the purchase of furniture

With certain savings, the last amount can also include the renovation of the premises (after this, documents will be needed to open a private school, issued by the sanitation station, fire inspectorate, and municipal authorities). Renting a building for a school will cost from 200 thousand rubles per month - educational institutions are usually offered discounts. The new building will require investments in construction ranging from 7-8 million rubles. If you want to open a private music school, about 1 million more will need to be spent on instruments and various equipment. Similar expenses will be required to create a powerful sports section, scientific laboratories, a mini-theater at the school, etc.

Thus, initially an entrepreneur should have at least 1-1.5 million rubles if there is premises for rent or 9 million if there is none. The rest of the costs can already be taken from the education fee: if there are 150 students and the minimum fee is 15 thousand.

rubles, monthly income will be 2.2 million rubles. Moreover, entrance fees in the amount of 50 thousand rubles from 150 will give another 7.5 million.

This will allow you to recoup your initial investment quickly, but remember: it is very difficult to achieve a large number of students in the first months of work.

Usually, in order to open a private school, you need to enroll up to 30-50 students, which means that the first income will be minimal. In addition, parents may refuse to pay fees in the first month, wanting to first become familiar with the level of education.

Taking this into account, it will often be possible to achieve complete break-even only by the time accreditation is received - that is, 5 years after opening. However, this time will be enough for the private school to establish itself well and have every right to increase prices for its services.

Private schools allow you to deviate from educational standards and maximize learning outcomes. Thanks to the developed methodology, students of such schools quickly master the presented curriculum. This is achieved through teaching experience or unique methodological approaches. The effectiveness of many private institutions depends on their staff. Therefore, the owners of such establishments try to gather only highly qualified personnel who are able to give the desired result.

Having teaching experience behind you, it is easy to understand how to open a private school. To do this, you need to do a number of simple steps that will allow you to get the desired result.

Choosing a thematic direction

The quality of domestic education is growing due to such schools. Majority modern organizations, carry out the educational process based on the realities of Soviet education. Experienced teachers understand that this approach is extremely ineffective. Soviet education was created in order to teach illiterate people the basic things, namely: read, write and count.

Hence the name SOSH (Secondary School), which was supposed to average everyone and provide general education. This approach is still used today. Today, a cult of individuality is developing, in which the child’s personality is considered personally. And the overall popularity of education is only growing every year. Today it is not fashionable to be illiterate. The one who is smarter and better informed wins. A successful private institution must have its own charter and traditions. This approach fosters responsibility in a person.

In the West, this approach has been used for a very long time. The domestic education market has only recently undergone these changes. Therefore, in order to ensure maximum learning effectiveness, the child must be given the right to choose (most likely the choice will be up to the parents) as to which method to study. The direction of studies can be divided into:

  • mathematical;
  • economic;
  • Humanities.

This is in this case if we're talking about about traditional schools of learning.

It is important for every organization to ensure results. The main issue here is not the premises and advertising. Personnel, methods and cost of training are important here.

How to select staff

If you want the school to provide quality education, then you need to be more careful in selecting personnel. Having previously defined and segmented the training process, a qualified worker will be needed. Everyone must do their job. It is completely contraindicated for a mathematics teacher to teach physics. Each direction requires an expert who understands the intricacies of his activity.

A competitive basis will help you select qualified teachers. The main criteria for personnel selection may be the following:

  • general experience;
  • having experience in conducting classes;
  • ability to interest a child;
  • the ability to find a common language with the baby;
  • be able to work in a team;
  • be charismatic, etc.

Having completed several dozen such interviews, you will be able to select highly qualified teachers.

Teaching methods

Methodological approaches should enable the child to make a choice. It is thanks to the ability to constantly make choices that the child will become more responsible in approaching his life. TO teenage years The child will form the habit of taking responsibility. This approach is completely contrary to the Soviet school, where we were constantly taught things that were completely unnecessary to us, explaining this by the fact that in the future everything could be useful.

The experience of Western private organizations shows that if a child is forced to constantly make decisions, then at the exit of school an accomplished person appears who decides for herself what and how to do. There is a fine line here between uncertainty and choosing your own hobbies. During the training, the child must be so interested in his future activities that he cannot even think about anything. Ideally, it is desirable to provide the learning process so that he does everything with sparkling eyes. For this we need experienced teachers who are able to greatly interest the child.

There are a very large number of teaching methods. You don't have to come up with your own. In order to choose the right one, go through some popular schools and observe the learning process.

This will allow you to gain experience in teaching practice.

Filtering students, creating a learning incentive

In life, only the strongest survive and win. Those who are lagging behind and weak will have to leave school. You cannot expel a weak student without first doing everything possible to improve his results.

As in any school, a parent could have dragged him here by force. If a child does not have the desire to learn and achieve goals, then he will be a burden, dragging down others. For any school, students are its pride. If a child does not want to learn, then he has no place in this organization.

Students should take every possible interest in the educational process, try to do only the best, develop and be on the same wavelength. Any initiative must be encouraged. And the process of getting closer to children should not lie only within the framework of education. Try in every possible way to support and bring teachers and students closer together.

Financial part and legal issues

To open your own private institution, you need:

  • register a legal entity face;
  • find a suitable premises, rent it and make repairs;
  • make a list necessary equipment and acquire it;
  • advertise the school;
  • launch a website;
  • buy educational material.

All these items require certain cash costs, which are needed at the opening stage. During the training, you should pay your employees a salary. The salary of a teacher in such a school should be significantly higher than usual. Any teaching practice that improves the learning process should be encouraged.

The main income of such an institution will depend on:

  • students' monthly tuition fees;
  • grants;
  • membership or entry fees;
  • electives and extras classes.

Private school packaging

Before opening this establishment, you need to create good packaging. What does it mean? Potential clients should have the vision that this is the school they can entrust their children to.

Good packaging for this organization should include:

  • student cases confirming the effectiveness of training;
  • specific indicators of classes (full proficiency in English by 11th grade, knowledge of three foreign languages, high certificate scores, development of leadership qualities, etc.);
  • justified cost of training;
  • professional teaching staff;
  • unique and effective methodological approaches.

Based on these packaging indicators, you need to design a website, which should become the main platform receiving incoming traffic. You should create an incoming traffic flow at the initial stages. If you do everything correctly, you will receive new clients through word of mouth.

Thus, an open educational institution can become not only a source of income, but also an additional joy in life. Children will always bring joy if they grow up in an atmosphere of love and understanding. Love your school and its students. Together you will make the country even better.

The phrase “The only thing more expensive than paid education is free education” is gaining more and more relevance these days. It is more profitable for parents to send their child to a private school, where he will receive high-quality educational services. To open a private school, you need to truly love teaching, since collecting documents and other bureaucratic ordeals will drive anyone crazy. Below is a business plan for a private school, which is suitable as an example for a similar regional center.

For a private school business plan to start generating income, you will need the following investments:

Planning income

The average number of students planned for the school is:

8th grade – 25 people.

9th grade – 25 people.

10th grade – 50 people.

11th grade – 50 people.

Tuition fees are taken without taking into account the summer months, that is, from September to May inclusive. The monthly tuition fee is 8,800 rubles. The school's monthly revenue will be:

150 x 8,800 = 1,320,000 rubles. Additional income will bring paid courses (on average 450,000 rubles/month).

Total profit per month will be:

1,320,000 + 450,000 = 1,770,000 rub.

To find out the school’s net profitability, subtract monthly expenses from revenue:

1,770,000 – 1,057,000 = 713,000 rubles.

The profitability of the project, on average, will be 14%.

Payback: 2.5-3 years.

Eventually

A private school business plan with calculations is suitable for a medium-sized region with low competition. There is no point in opening the project in small town, where a major competitor already operates. It will be difficult to attract students to pay tuition to a little-known school. You will have to invest at least 3,527,000 in the business. The average return will be 713,000 rubles. During the summer months, the business will not generate income unless you come up with options for generating additional income.
