Fawn's Dream

Once upon a time there was a little deer named Sammy. He was a kind and cheerful little deer. Everyone loved him. And Sammy had a dream: one day to become one of Santa Claus's reindeer. All his friends and his family said that it was impossible and that it was better to forget about it. But Sammy believed that someday he, along with other reindeer, harnessed to the sleigh of the good Santa Claus, would rush him across the starry sky with a bag full of gifts for children.

- I want to be like Rudolph! – he often repeated, and his mother shook her head and smiled.

Rudolph was the lead reindeer in Santa's sleigh. He had a big red nose, which through the darkness and fog illuminated the path for Santa Claus's sleigh.

This is how Sammy the deer lived with his dream. He was already accustomed to the fact that no one believed in its implementation, but he himself continued to believe and dream. One day, shortly before Christmas, Sammy started talking about his dream again in the company of other fawns. The oldest fawn, Larry, laughed at him. Sammy felt very sad and left without saying anything. For a long time he wandered through the snowy forest until he came to one small clearing. There, in the clearing, Sammy no longer held back his tears. He burst into tears. Tears flowed down his soft fluffy cheeks and fell onto the snow. Sammy thought that maybe, indeed, his dream was not destined to come true. Suddenly the baby heard someone’s pleasant, calm voice:

- Why are you crying, little deer?

Sammy looked up and saw Rudolph the Reindeer himself! The little deer froze in amazement and delight.

-Are you Rudolph?! – he said, not believing his eyes.

“Of course, it’s me,” Rudolf laughed, “So why are you crying?”

Sammy, of course, could not restrain himself and told Rudolph the whole truth.

“You are a very good deer, Sammy,” said Rudolph, “I’m proud of you!” It's great that you don't lose faith. I can assure you that sometimes miracles happen in life and the impossible becomes possible. Moreover, your dream is very possible. Do you know my story?

“No, I don’t know,” Sammy shook his head.

“Then listen,” said Rudolf and began his story, “Since childhood, I have had a big red nose.” So red that it even glowed in the dark. All the deer, young and old, laughed at me. Even my family, my brothers and sisters, wanted nothing to do with me. That's how I grew up, very lonely. One day, Santa Claus's sleigh went astray due to fog. I helped Santa by lighting the way with my red nose. After that, Santa Claus invited me to become the main reindeer in his team and light the way with my nose. Like this. From then on, no one laughed at me anymore.

“I didn’t even know that it was exactly like that,” Sammy said and looked at Rudolph enthusiastically.

“Sammy, I really like you,” Rudolph said. - I want to help you. I can make a small piece of your dream come true. Come here tomorrow at the same time.

Having said this, Rudolph shook his magnificent horns and soared up into the night sky.

The next day, Sammy was there at the appointed time. He was surprised to see that Rudolf was already there and not alone. Next to him stood an elf dressed in a red suit and cap. But that's not all! Santa Claus stood in the clearing.

- Hello, Sammy! - said Rudolph, - There are still a few days left before Christmas. Santa doesn’t need the sleigh, especially since he needed to check if everything was okay with them. So I asked my friend, Glen the Elf, to help me. Come here, let's take a ride through the starry sky!

- So, me and you? Together? Harnessed to a sleigh?! – little deer Sammy couldn’t believe his ears and eyes.

- Of course together! - Rudolf assured him.

- But I can’t fly!

- You can! – Rudolf laughed again.

Elf Glen harnessed Rudolph and Samm to the sleigh, and he sat on the box. Rudolph shook his horns, and magical sparkling dust fell from them. As soon as the magic dust fell on the back and head of the fawn, he felt extraordinary strength and lightness in his body, and realized that he could now fly. The sleigh soared into the sky. At first Sammy couldn't believe his luck, but then he relaxed and just enjoyed the flight. They rolled around the sky for a bit, then made several circles above the forest and descended into a clearing.

- Great walk! - said Rudolph, - The sleigh is fine, Santa will be pleased. Thank you for the company.

- Thank you, Rudolf! You are the best deer in the world! – Sammy answered.

And Rudolph laughed joyfully.

“I’m glad that I helped you not to lose faith in your dream.” You'll grow up and we'll see. “It all depends on you,” he said, “Well, that’s it, I have to go.” The elves will be decorating the sleigh in preparation for the most important night of the year. We all have a lot of work to do.

Also an old piece dating back to 2007.

Far, far away, in an unknown country, there lived a deer. He was a very cunning and deceitful deer who often deceived everyone. He did not stay with the herd when he grew up, but went in search of adventure.
One day a deer entered the magical kingdom. And there was a mountain in the middle of it where the wizard lived. The deer really wanted to look at the wizard, and he climbed the mountain.
At first, nothing worked for the deer. His hooves slipped and the deer fell. But he was not only cunning and deceptive, but also a stubborn animal. After several attempts, the deer finally climbed up.
There was a wizard's house there. The wizard himself was sitting on the lawn and thinking about something.
- Hello! – the deer boldly greeted.
“Hello, hello,” answered the wizard, without looking at the deer. - Who are you?
The deer thought and decided to play a trick on the wizard.
- I am an enchanted prince! - he answered. And I thought to myself: “Just think, I told a lie! If this is a real wizard, then he will understand everything!” This deer had no conscience.
The wizard turned and looked at the deer.
- Prince, you say? – he asked again. - How long have you been walking like this?
- Oh, I don’t remember anymore! – the deer continued to lie.
- Or maybe I can disenchant you?
- Let's! – the deer was happy. “Maybe he really will turn me into a prince! And if not, so what? Just think, I was joking!”
The wizard rolled up his sleeves and took out magic wand, muttered some magic words and touched the deer with his stick.
At first the deer didn't feel anything. But then he looked down...
- Oh oh oh!!! - the animal squealed. - I asked you to turn me into a prince, and you... you... You made me invisible!!! What a disgrace?!
The wizard looked at the place where the deer had just stood and said thoughtfully:
- Hmm, strange... Either the spell misfired, which happens once every three hundred years, or you are not a prince at all!
For the first time in his life, the deer felt ashamed.
“Yes, I lied to you,” he admitted, “but I just wanted to become a prince!”
- Couldn’t you just say that?
- I... I... - the deer hesitated.
“Well, that’s it, ungulate, listen to me carefully,” said the wizard. - I can’t disenchant you. You will be invisible for a year and three days, and then you will again become an ordinary deer. Clear? But there is one more condition. During this period you must not tell a lie or deceive anyone.
- What if suddenly... what then? – the deer asked timidly.
- What if you decide to deceive again? You will remain invisible for another year and three days. So you better not lie! – the wizard finished. - Now go, I have a lot to do. And think carefully about your habit of deceiving!
Since then, that deer has become invisible. I couldn’t live without lies, so I once deceived some bird and ran around invisible for another year and three days. No one knows whether he lost his spell or not. But hunters say that sometimes in the forest they hear someone whispering:
- I shouldn’t lie... I shouldn’t tell lies!

In one distant forest with the magical name Tin-Zin, there lived a little deer with his mother. They lived amicably, but the Little Deer was disobedient and often violated his mother’s prohibitions.

One winter, Fawn and his friends - two little hares - went for a walk to their favorite edge of the forest, which was located at the other end of the forest. But on the way the friends had a wide frozen lake, on which they were strictly forbidden to walk. Friends would have to go around this lake, but the bunnies were lazy and did not want to do this. And one little bunny said:

- The ice is strong, we won’t fall through. I'll get to the other side in six leaps!

- And I’m at four! – picked up another bunny.

- Guys, don't! Let's go around this lake, in case the ice can't support us! – Little Deer tried to calm his friends down.

“No, Little Deer,” answered the bunnies, “now we must find out which of us is jumping further!”

And the little hares raced across the ice to the opposite shore. They did exactly five jumps each - and none of them won.

- Hey, Little Deer! - the bunnies shouted from the other side of the lake. - Why are you standing there? Run here, it's not scary at all!

The fawn did not want to seem like a coward to the bunnies and carefully walked across the ice.

- Khrya! – the front hoof fell under the ice, and the Fawn backed away, but it was not to be. - Khrya! - the ice cracked under the hind legs, and now the entire Fawn was floundering in the water. And the water is icy, brrr!

The little bunnies rushed to help the Fawn, but could not get him out. Then one little hare ran for help, and the second one stayed with a friend, so that the Fawn would not be so afraid to flounder in cold water alone.

Soon the king of the magical forest - the wise Elk, the mother of the Fawn and the beaver rescuers - came running to the lake. They pulled the poor thing out of the water and took him to the shore - he was completely frozen and trembling like an aspen leaf. The little bunnies quickly ran home, and the Little Deer and his mother also went home.

In the evening, the wise Elk came to them. The fawn was already completely warm and cheerful, but he was ashamed of his action.

– Aren’t children forbidden to walk on the ice alone? - asked Elk Fawn. “Didn’t you know that it’s dangerous to go out on a frozen lake?” You could have drowned! - he cursed.

- I... I tried to dissuade them! - the Little Deer tried to justify himself. “But I didn’t want them to call me a coward...

- Oh you! Is it better this way? – Moose shook his head.

“No,” agreed the Little Deer. - Not better at all.

– And your mother was so worried! Aren't you ashamed to worry your mother? – Moose frowned.

“It’s a shame,” sighed the Little Deer. - Mom, I will never again do what I shouldn’t do!

Mom hugged the Little Deer.

- I hope you learned your lesson? – she asked.

- Yes, yes, I got it! It was scary...” assured the Little Deer.

“Okay,” nodded the wise Elk. - Rest, baby. And I still need to talk to your friends. Although they acted outrageously, they behaved bravely and did not abandon their friend in trouble! But they will get it too,” Elk winked at the Fawn and left.

Since then, the Fawn and the bunnies - and other children, taught by their bitter experience - have never again violated prohibitions, much less walked on thin ice– everyone now knew how this could end.

Dedicated to little curly haired Olezhka

In one very ordinary forest there lived a not quite ordinary deer. Well, he had everything like other deer - four hooves, two ears, a small tail, short fur. But the horns were not ordinary, but magical.
As our deer rested on the grass, basking in the sun, beautiful flowers bloomed. And these flowers smelled so fragrant that colorful butterflies flew from everywhere.

If a deer jumped and galloped across a forest meadow, then it would appear on its antlers...What would you think? Sweet, juicy, ripe grapes! The birds adored him, and when they saw the galloping deer, they dropped everything they were doing and quickly flew towards him.

At night our hero slept. And this is not surprising, all deer sleep at night, even magical ones. Meanwhile, mushrooms grew on the horns. And not just any mushrooms, but chanterelles. Why exactly the chanterelles are unknown, but they were adored by the squirrels living in this forest. Quietly, so as not to wake the deer, they collected mushrooms, of which there were so many that they were enough even for the whole winter.

This is how the forest animals lived, rejoicing that they had such a wonderful, kind and cheerful deer with magic antlers.
But one day in the spring, when the snow melted, young grass appeared, and the sun warmed everything around with all its might, our deer became sad. He was sad for a day, another, a week, and did not understand what was happening. Because of such sadness, the flowers stopped blooming on his horns, there were no berries, and even when he fell asleep, chanterelles did not appear on them. The deer was sad, the forest dwellers were sad. And then on one of these sad days a guest appeared in the forest. No, not a guest, but a guest. It was a young deer who accidentally ran here from a neighboring grove. As soon as our hero saw her, his sadness immediately passed. He felt joyful and cheerful, his heart was beating very quickly, he wanted to dance and even sing songs. And do you know what happened to his horns?
Beautiful flowers bloomed on them, apples and pears grew, sweet berries ripened!

Once upon a time there lived a poor forester. His wife died, leaving two children, Evichka and Janik. The forester married for the second time. Oh, what the poor children have suffered from their hated stepmother! They didn’t hear a kind word, didn’t see a kind look, every single day she scolded and punished them.

In those days, people lived poorly, and even the foresters had a hard time.

Sometimes there was not a piece of bread in the house for three days.

One morning the forester asks:

- Wife! What are we going to feed the children today?

- How should I know? - she answers. – Go into the forest, maybe you’ll bring something. The forester went into the forest. It was already getting dark, but he only caught one bird.

“Get the bird,” he says to his wife, “and cook it for dinner.”

She cooked the bird, everyone got a piece, they licked their lips, but did not eat their fill. The next day the forester asks again:

- What are we going to eat? And the wife snapped:

- Why do you keep whining and moaning? Better go hunting in the forest! The forester went hunting. This time he was lucky enough to catch a hare. He was delighted, brought the spoils to his wife, ordered them to fry them for dinner, and then returned to the forest, maybe he would be lucky again.

The stepmother skinned the hare, was about to put it on a baking sheet, and decided to run off into the water. While I was walking, a cat came out of nowhere! She grabbed the hare and was gone. The stepmother returned, saw what had happened, and almost dropped dead.

I started thinking about what to feed my husband? And even his disgusting children? I’ll kill them and tell my husband that they ran into the forest and never returned.

She went out into the yard and shouted:

“Children, gather some firewood and we’ll fry the meat!” The children collect brushwood, the sister says to the brother:

– Who knows why the stepmother needed brushwood!

“Fry the meat,” the brother answers.

“No, I heard her muttering: “Today it’s the boy’s turn!” Apparently she’s up to something evil!”

- Oh, sister, I'm afraid!

- Don't be afraid, brother! When we get home, I will ask my stepmother to comb my hair. And you grab my ribbon and quickly run out of the house with it! I’m behind you, so we’ll run away.

The children brought brushwood, their stepmother praised them: well done, they say, they did it quickly. Evichka asks her to braid her hair, and she replies:

- First, put water in a large cauldron!

Evichka applied water and ran to the attic, where she had two wild apples hidden. She took the apples and returned to her stepmother.

The stepmother unbraided Evichka's braid, put the ribbon aside, and began combing her hair. Then Yannick jumped into the room, grabbed the ribbon and rushed out of the house! Evichka runs after him and shouts: “Give me back my ribbon! Give me back my ribbon!

The stepmother waited a little and jumped out into the yard after them, looked, and they had already run far away. She realized that the children had deceived her, she became furious, screaming at the top of her lungs:

- May you turn into the beast from whose footprints you drink water!

Brother and sister are running through the mountains, through the valleys, wherever their eyes look. The sun is high and hot. Yannick began to be tormented by thirst. He sees a bear's track, rain water has settled in it.

- Evichka-sister, I’m thirsty!

- Oh, don’t drink, brother, don’t drink! After all, this is a bear trail. If you get drunk, you'll turn into a bear cub! Better eat a wild apple and quench your thirst.

Yannick ate an apple and quenched his thirst.

They walked and walked and looked at wolf tracks. Yannick is even more thirsty.

- Evichka-sister, I’m thirsty. Let me drink from the puddle!

- Oh, don't drink, brother, don't drink! If you drink from the wolf's trail, you will become a wolf cub! Better eat an apple! - asks the sister.

Yannick ate an apple and quenched his thirst.

- Evichka-sister, give me another apple?

- Oh, brother, my brother, I don’t have more apple, be patient a little, there’s a well nearby!

They see a deer hoof, and there is water in it.

- Evichka-sister, I can’t stand it anymore, I’ll drink from a deer’s hoof!

- Oh, brother, don’t drink, you’ll become a deer!

Before she had time to look back, Janik had already clung to the hoof, drank, and immediately turned into a fawn.

Evichka saw it, wrung her white hands, and burst into bitter tears: “Oh, my unfortunate brother, what should I do with you?” The dogs will attack and tear you to pieces! The hunters will come and kill you!

Evichka sheds tears, and the fawn wanders sadly nearby. They haven’t walked even a dozen steps, they see a spring, clear as glass. The girl drank some spring water, and immediately a golden star shone on her forehead and her hair turned golden. They walk further, in front of them is a clearing, in the clearing there is a haystack.

“Here we, brother deer, will stay to live,” says the sister, “here the stepmother will not find us!”

They huddled in the hay from the rain and wind and whiled away the night. And when the sun rose, Evichka sat down on the hay, combing her golden hair, and she burst into tears and said:

If my dear mother knew that I was sitting in the hay, scratching my golden hair, she would feel sorry for me!

They began to live in the forest, the fawn was nibbling the grass. Evichka collects berries and roots. Much time has passed since then.

A young king went to this forest to hunt.

One day Evichka is sitting on the hay, combing her golden hair, when suddenly a fawn runs as fast as she can, followed by a dog. The fawn huddled in the hay, and the dog saw Evichka, wagged its tail and rushed back to its owner.

The king threw a piece of meat to the dog, the dog grabbed the meat, took it to the girl and returned to its owner! He gives her meat again, the dog again drags the meat somewhere. For the third time, the king throws meat to the dog, and he himself goes after it. He sees a girl sitting on the hay.

-What are you doing here? – the king was surprised.

Evichka told him everything, the king listened and asked:

- Come with me?

- No, I can’t, because you’re ordering to kill a deer! - Evichka answers.

“Don’t be afraid,” the king reassures her. - No one will touch your fawn. It will be good for both of you!

Evichka liked the kind words of the young king, she did not resist, got into the carriage with her little deer brother and went to the palace.

In the palace they treated Evichka kindly and did not spare anything for her. And the brother deer was not offended.

Every day Evichka has new outfits, one richer than the other, teachers come to her, teach her royal sciences.

Evichka blossomed like a poppy, and as she began to age, the king took her as his wife. Before the wedding, he swore to his young wife that he would never harm the fawn.

Whether things will be good or bad - who knows!

There lived an old hag in that castle; she harbored a fierce grudge against the king because he married Evichka, and not her daughter.

The king was getting ready to go to war. He ordered the old woman to serve the queen faithfully; she was expecting a child soon.

Was born a handsome boy with a gold star in his forehead. The queen fell ill, lay in bed asking for a drink, and the old woman said to her:

- There is a river flowing under the window, bend down and drink!

- How can I bend over, because I have no strength!

“What do I care,” the old woman hisses, “if you don’t want it, don’t, I’m not your servant!”

The queen was completely tormented by thirst, she grabbed the window sill, bent over, the old woman jumped up and pushed her into the water, and put her daughter in bed. But she didn’t touch the little boy with the golden star on his forehead.

The queen did not drown, but turned into a golden duck and began to swim along the river with other ducks.

A boy without a mother is screaming and struggling, and there is no way for the old woman to rock him to sleep or calm him down. Suddenly a fawn runs into the chambers, puts up its horns, “put it down, child,” he shows, “I’ll rock it to sleep.”

The old woman put the baby deer on the horns and shouted:

- Get out of here! May you both break your neck!

A fawn wanders along the shore and sees ducks swimming along the river. He stopped and asked:

- Gray ducks! Where is my son's mother? Where is the orphan's birthplace? And the ducks answer:

– Don’t go far, look on the river!

And then a golden duck flies up to the shore, shakes its wings, turns into a queen, takes its child in its arms and says:

- My son, dear, dear son, I will feed you and bathe you. She fed, bathed, swaddled, and put the fawn back on her horns. And then she turned into a golden duck and flew away to the river.

This went on for a long time: every day the fawn carried her son to his mother, he grew by leaps and bounds and became more and more beautiful.

And soon the king sent a message from the war to expect him to come home. The old woman tells her daughter to lie down in bed and pretend to be sick. And when the king returns from the war, he orders him to ask for reindeer meat for dinner.

The king arrived from the war, saw his son and was delighted. And when I looked at the one lying in bed, I was stunned! Where did her beauty go, where is her golden hair and the star in her forehead? But the old woman persuades the king: illness, they say, does not make anyone look good, but the golden star and golden hair passed from the queen to the child. The old woman’s daughter lies in bed and screams in a bad voice:

“Give me some deer meat, tell me to slaughter the fawn!”

“How can this be,” the king marvels, “after all, you yourself took an oath from me not to give offense to the fawn!” And now you order him to be stabbed?

And she screams more and more:

- Oh, I want deer meat! Order the fawn to be slaughtered!

The king had to agree. The knives are already being sharpened, the water is already being heated in the cauldrons, the end of the fawn is about to come.

But then the boy woke up and began to cry. The fawn heard it, came running, wagging its horns.

The old woman calms the child this way and that, but he still doesn’t subside. And the fawn keeps shaking its horns. The king is surprised, and the old woman explains: the fawn, they say, wants to rock the child. The king allowed. The fawn accepted the child by its horns and rushed headlong away. The king was afraid that something might happen to his son and followed him. The fawn ran to the Danube. He saw ducks and shouted:

- Blue-winged ducks, where is the son’s mother, where is the orphan’s mother? And the ducks answer:

– Don’t go far, look at the dam!

Then the golden duck flew in, turned into a beautiful woman, took the child in her arms and said:

“My dear son, my dear son, I will feed you, bathe you, and change you!”

She hugs him, kisses him, says:

– Is your dear father doing something? If only he knew, if only he knew how the evil woman pushed me into the Danube!

The king heard, jumped out of the bushes, pressed his wife to his chest, and she turned into a golden duck, she wants to fly away, but the king holds her tightly:

“I won’t let you in, I won’t let you in,” he shouts, “until the evil spell falls off you!”

Before he could finish speaking, the duck turned into a golden-haired woman, the deer into a stately young man, and in his arms was a child.

Happy and joyful they went to the palace. The king hid his brother-in-law, the queen and her son, and the evil old woman decided that the fawn and the child were missing, and she was happy.

The next day the king orders guests to be convened for the holiday. The old woman cannot feel her feet under her with joy: her daughter has become a queen and sits next to the king at the head of the table!

The guests feast, they eat expensive dishes, and they drink good wine. But then the king rises and makes this speech:

– I would like to ask you, my guests, one question. Tell me, what kind of punishment did the villain deserve, since he wanted to destroy two innocent people and deprive two more of their happiness?

The old hag hastens to answer:

- Push him into a barrel of nails and high mountain lower! What else?

Suddenly the side doors swing open and the queen with her child and a handsome handsome fellow enter the hall!

Here the king told the guests how it happened. And he proved her guilt to the old hag.

They pushed the evil old woman and her daughter into a barrel and lowered them down the mountain.

The king planted right hand the queen, on the left - her brother, and they continued to feast and have fun all together. And now, I suppose, they are having fun, and rejoicing, since they have not yet died.
