Owners of several Apple devices must know how to access iCloud from an iPhone or iPad if necessary, because sometimes it is necessary to obtain data from another device right now.

For those who have never used iCloud: this is a cloud storage that not only makes it possible to store and synchronize your media files, contacts and other data. But it also backs up all devices, which makes it easy to transfer everything you need to a new model.

iCloud features

Let's figure out what iCloud can synchronize? Standard transfer objects include:

  1. Multimedia content (books, films, etc.). Your entire library will not be lost when moving to new version iPhone, or if it breaks.
  2. Photo and video. Not a single frame you take will be lost, which means that valuable memories will remain in your memory and phone account forever.
  3. Settings. You won’t have to find the desired sound level or design again - ICloud will handle everything itself.
  4. Messages and ringtones.
  5. Application data (game progress, accounts, etc.)

I would especially like to dwell on the synchronization of application data: some games allow you to use synchronization to pause a level on the iPad and continue from the same place on the iPhone (and vice versa), which is very convenient, for example, in the event of a low battery.

Where to download iCloud?

There is no need to download anything; the cloud service has been built into iOS since version 5. All functions become fully available after a free update to iOS 8 and higher. It is also worth noting that registration is unnecessary: you use your Apple ID login and password to log in.

Do not under any circumstances share your iCloud data with third parties! They will be able to study all your photos, correspondence and other materials.

How to Login to the iPhone Cloud

You won’t be able to get into the storage through the standard Safari browser: You will be asked to log in to your iPhone and log into it, but in the meantime you may need to visit full version, not mobile.

When might you need to log into the iPhone cloud?

What is iCloud - general information

iCloud stores your photos, documents, and more in the cloud and wirelessly transfers it to your enabled devices.

The best example of iCloud in action is shown in the photo below:

Let me explain the photo: let's say you took a photo on your iPhone. It goes to cloud storage and is automatically transferred to your other devices: iPad, MacBook, etc.

This is just one example of using iCloud, we will look at others in great detail below.

Setting up iCloud on iPad

Initial setup iCloud

What do you need to start using iCloud? Your Apple ID and password. Let's go to Settings in iOS 5 and we see a new menu item iCloud.

Enter your Apple ID and password and click the Sign in button. If you created an account when installing iOS 5, then you won’t have to do this either.

We enter and see this picture:

What do the top parameters mean?

Mail- disabled by default, and I don’t see much point in reserving it.

Contacts- when you change contacts on one device, the contact information on the other will change. Leave this enabled if you are using the standard address book.

Calendars- leave it enabled if you use the standard iOS calendar.

Reminders- leave it turned on if you use reminders. Your reminders will be duplicated on all devices connected to iCloud. This new program in iOS 5.

Bookmarks- leave it enabled if you use bookmarks in the Safari browser.

Notes- if you use the standard Notes application on the iPad, then it is advisable to enable it, but this requires an email like [email protected].

Photostream- enable if you want photos taken using iPad or screenshots to automatically go to iCloud.

Documents and data- included. But we will configure this parameter separately below. Required if you want to transfer documents and data between devices.

Click the “Storage and backups” button.

Each Apple ID has 5 gigabytes available free space for free. If we click the “Buy more free space” button, we will see tariff plans for large volumes of storage.

Tariff plans

10 gigabytes - $20 per year

20 gigabytes - $40 per year

50 gigabytes - $100 per year

Theoretically, 5 free gigabytes should be enough for you.

We are closing tariff plans. Turn on the switch Copy to iCloud.

Important! button "Create a copy" don't press. Press the button "Vault".

Click on the button with the name of your iPad. Next, you are asked to select the data you want to back up. I note that It is not the programs themselves that go to iCloud, but only their data (for example, books from the Shortbook library or Save from a game).

We see that by default we have everything turned on. I disabled copying of all data except the most necessary programs. Click show all programs and one by one we disable those whose data is not necessary to be stored. The process is tedious, it’s strange that Apple didn’t add a button to turn everything off. I'd rather turn everything off and only turn on the programs I use.

After we have turned off everything unnecessary, we go back to the place where there is a button "Create a copy" and press it. We started creating a copy of our data in iCloud.

In general, according to Apple's idea, automatic backup to iCloud is carried out when the iPad is connected to a power source. In this case, the iPad must be locked and connected to Wi-Fi networks. But nothing prevents you from creating a copy manually at any time.

Setting up mail and notes for iCloud

As was written just above, for mail you need your own address like [email protected]. You can create it directly from your iPad. Move the mail slider (Settings->iCloud ->mail slider to ON). A message appears where we press the button Create.

Enter the address of the form [email protected].

Advice: Try to be imaginative when choosing a name. Choose a unique name - certainly names like [email protected] or [email protected] are already busy and you will receive a notification about it.

Click next - that’s it, the name for the mail has been created. Now the data from this mail will go to iCloud and from there to all your devices. We go into the mail and see that iCloud items have appeared in it. Congratulations, you have a new mailing address like [email protected], linked to iCloud.

Author's opinion: I don’t see much point in creating this address, but without it you won’t be able to send notes (Standard app in iOS) to iCloud. It is also unclear why synchronizing mail in iCloud is needed in this form. A gmail account using the imap protocol, in my opinion, is no worse.

Photostream - General information. How Photo Stream works

If you have activated the function Photostream(Settings -> iCloud -> Photo Stream -> switch the switch to On), then all photos and screenshots taken on the iPad will be automatically uploaded to iCloud and immediately appear on all your devices that support iCloud.

After turning it on, we try to take screenshots or photos. We go into the standard photo program on the iPad. And we see a new tab photostream. Our new screenshots and photos will be displayed there.

Important! It is worth noting that the maximum that a photo stream supports is 1000 photos. Therefore, after the 1000th photo, the following will happen: the oldest photo will be deleted, and a new photo will be uploaded to the photo stream.

How to delete data from a photo stream

Remove them from the application Photo it is forbidden! If you turn off the Photo Stream feature in iCloud (Settings -> iCloud -> Photo Stream -> switch the switch to Off), a message will appear: Disabling a Photo Stream will delete all photos in that Photo Stream from your iPad.

And even if you press delete photo, then only photos on the iPad that were duplicated in the photo stream will be deleted.

Attention! Photos and screenshots from the Photos section of the Photo program will not be deleted. Photos will remain in iCloud. When you turn on the Photo Stream function again, they will simply be downloaded from the network.

Using iCloud through the official website

iCloud has an official website - . Go to it, you will be asked to log in with your Apple ID:

The screenshot shows the Developer Sign In button. The button may be called differently, maybe someday there will even be a Russian interface. The main thing here Sign In- "Sign in".

We log in with our Apple ID and its password, we see 5 icons:

How Mail works in iCloud

When we access our mail, we see exactly the same email client interface that we see on the iPad. Everything works similarly, except that on the iPad we can have a ton configured mailboxes, but here there is only 1, and that one is exclusively of the type [email protected]

When working with letters, all changes are instantly displayed on all devices connected to your storage. Comfortable? Comfortable.

How Contacts works in iCloud

We go into this application and see all our contacts from the address book. We're trying to start it new contact right in the browser.

After clicking Done, open the application Address Book on iPad and, lo and behold: a new contact literally appears on the iPad within a few seconds.

We try to edit a contact in the browser - look at the iPad. All changes are reflected almost immediately in the iPad address book. To do this, you didn’t even have to press any “Update” buttons - iCloud works on the principle of Push notifications.

The opposite is also true - all changes on the iPad in the address book are immediately displayed in the browser.

How Calendar works in iCloud

Go to the application Calendar in the browser. The interface is almost the same as on the iPad.

Let's try to create a new event in the calendar in the browser:

This event immediately appears in the Calendar application on the iPad.

When you edit an event in the browser, the changes are immediately reflected in the iPad. And vice versa.

How Find My iPhone works in iCloud

I would like to tell you more about this function. If you have lost your iPad, you need to go through the browser and select the Find My iPhone function. You will be asked to enter your Apple ID password.

We enter and after some time the location of our iPad (and any other device of yours connected to iCloud) is determined on the Google map. In the upper left corner we see information about the last time the data was updated.

On the map, click on the green dot with our device (if it is found, of course), and click on the icon with the letter i. And we get this pop-up window.

As you can see in the screenshot above, there are three buttons - I’ll explain their purpose.

Play Sound or Send Message function

Intended for sending sound signal to your iPad (you never know, suddenly you lost it in your huge house) or send a message (useful, for example, if you lost your iPad away from home and want to write something to the finder).

Click on this button and see this form.

If we simply press the Send button, a sound notification will be sent to the iPad. Moreover, the sound will be loud, regardless of whether the volume on the device is turned on or not.

If we write a message in the text field, then our text will be sent to the iPad:

In addition to all this, you will receive an email confirming that you have used the Find My iPhone functions:

Remote Lock function

With this feature we can remotely lock the iPad with a four-digit password. Relevant if you do not want information from it to get to attackers.

Press the Remote Lock button and see the password entry window. Enter it twice:

That’s it, the iPad is locked and you can’t view its contents without entering a password:

Remote Wipe function

Remotely erase data on iPad. The most drastic way to get rid of the contents of your iPad is to hide data from prying eyes.

Cloud storage is becoming more and more part of our lives; they help us store, transfer, and share data without resorting to old, wired methods.

Analysts predict that the world will soon abandon resource-intensive and bulky servers and switch to “cloud storage.” We present to your attention storage facilities, from which it is often difficult to choose what you need. All these storages are cross-platform and can be used both for iOS (for iPhone, iPad, Mac) and for devices running Android. They also all have web and desktop versions, which greatly simplifies the process of synchronizing, transferring, and storing files.

Let's look at some of them, those that, in our opinion, provide the cheapest service and sufficient service, as well as being easy to use, and, importantly, compatible with Apple devices. Prices will be indicated in rubles, without additional options.

1. Google Drive

Price: free - 15 gigabytes, 100 gigabytes for 139 rubles per month.

Russian language: Yes.

Basic storage for devices on the Android platform, which is why it is in great demand among them. But since the service provides a “considerable” amount of free space, it will also be of interest to “Yabloko”.

The main disadvantage is the inconvenient browser version of the application, although the application for Windows and Mac is much simpler and more intuitive.

2. Yandex Disk

Price: 10 gigabytes for free, + 10 gigabytes for 30 rubles.
Russian language: Yes.

Fast and stable service, functionality is constantly expanding. Synchronizes at good speed. Other applications can use the capabilities of Yandex.Disk.

Convenient not only from the desktop or mobile phone— its capabilities will be appreciated in the browser. Disk space is also expanded due to partner functions, such as 100 gigabytes of free space when connecting to Rostelecom (available on some tariffs).

3. Dropbox

Price: 2 gigabytes for free, 1 terabyte for 462 rubles ($8.25 at the rate of 56 rubles), business account for 700 rubles ($12.5).
Russian language: Yes.

One of the "mastodons" of cloud storage, but at first it provides only 2 gigabytes of space in the cloud. The referral system allows you to increase your free space to 16 gigabytes: link your social media accounts to your account and share the link to the resource with other users.

When you purchase Dropbox Business, your cloud space will become unlimited and will also allow multiple users to share it. File recovery and access settings are included.

4. Mega

Price: 50 gigabytes for free, 200 gigabytes for 345 rubles (5 euros at the rate of 69 rubles)
Russian language: Yes.

Lots of free traffic and a user-friendly interface. Easy drag and drop of files. Convenient downloading of files from the application and simple synchronization from the desktop.

The source code of this repository is publicly available, which allows the company to use new technology— encryption of data on your device before reaching the server. This protects against hacking.

5. Cloud Mail.Ru

Price: 8 gigabytes for free, 64 gigabytes for 69 rubles per month.
Russian language: Yes.

Similar to Yandex.Disk both in interface and capabilities. Loses with the number of referral programs. But it beats its competitor in terms of free space.

Screenshots are instantly created and saved through the Mail.Ru Cloud.

6.OneDrive

Price: 5 gigabytes for free, 50 gigabytes for 140 rubles per month, 1 terabyte for 269 or 339 rubles (with a subscription to Office 365).
Russian language: Yes.

Formerly known as SkyDrive. Built into Windows 10. If available on Windows computer 10 You are already a user.
The Photos app can use OneDrive to sync photos between devices.

macOS users are unhappy with this service, please take this into account when purchasing.

7.iCloud

Price: 5 gigabytes for free, 50 gigabytes for 59 rubles per month.
Russian language: Yes.

5 gigabytes of space is not enough, but it is most convenient for backing up pictures from an iPhone. Built into Finder on macOS - the app will be available on all Macbooks and iOS devices. Document creation is available. Plus, iCloud is built right into iOS, making it as easy as possible to start using.

Let's summarize.

From the above options, you can choose the free storage with the largest reserve. Then your choice will fall on Mega.

Considering the interface, I advised you to take a look at Yandex disk.

If you look at the maximum possibilities, but with payment, then Dropbox is a good option.

In addition, all applications are in Russian, which greatly simplifies working with them. If you need to store, for example, photos on your iPhone, but don’t have enough space, then you shouldn’t buy a new iPhone with twice as much memory. Use iCloud: you probably have an account in this application, and you can free up a couple of gigabytes of space on your phone without any extra effort. The most used and popular are Google Drive, Yandex Drive and Cloud mail.ru. It is through them that some large files are sent to mail: music, films, videos and photos.

There was a time when cloud storage was just a high-tech term used by industry insiders. Now everything is different, and every user can access such services. They are designed to make your life easier by significantly expanding the memory size of your device using digital media. Where is the cloud on the iPhone and how to use it?

What is cloud storage?

The name “cloud storage” evokes images of information floating in the air, but in practice this is not the case. When you store something in the cloud, that data is located on a remote server. This is contrary to saving directly to your device. These servers can then be accessed remotely by users. Typically, these servers are owned and operated by the hosting company that maintains them.

So why is it called "the cloud"? The origins of this phrase can be traced back to the early days of the Internet. Back then, cloud designs were used to represent the telephone company that provided Internet access. This term has recently been transferred to modern era. Where is the cloud located on the iPhone and what is it for?

Why is it useful to use cloud storage?

There are several good reasons to use cloud storage. For example, Apple likes to charge extra to increase device memory. The problem is that modern devices continue to consume more and more storage space. Despite this, Apple has no plans to reduce the price of 256 GB iPhone models, so an alternative is needed.

This is cloud storage. Remote servers can store a ton of photos, videos and other data at a reasonable cost. Beyond that, you rarely have to take extra steps to access them.

Cloud storage also makes it easy to transfer data between multiple devices. Imagine the simple process of copying photos from your phone to PC without the cloud. You'll have to deal with wires or the cumbersome process of sending files over e-mail. Synchronizing your iPhone with the cloud avoids this.

However, one of the most often overlooked benefits of cloud storage is the backup options it offers. Ideally, you should make a copy of every important file you have on the server. This will allow you not to worry about the risks of losing information.

However, the best reason to use cloud storage is relatively simple: it's the future. People may one day live in an era where the cloud becomes the dominant method of storing data. Therefore, it is best to familiarize yourself with this now.

How difficult is it to use cloud storage?

With the right service, cloud storage is incredibly easy to use. Most modern devices give you the ability to immediately save to the cloud. From there, accessing your data is as easy as through the built-in media.

The main obstacle when working with cloud storage is data management. It is possible to log into the cloud from an iPhone, but this requires using a third-party browser. In addition, the habit of having information in several places causes difficulties. Luckily, most cloud services make it easy to automatically back up your data and manage your files.

How much cloud storage do you need?

It depends greatly on your needs. If you are a business owner, you need as much as you can get, since the cloud is your best option for creating copies. Based on your needs, this could mean subscribing to a service that allows you to store terabytes. Since you can always log into the cloud from your iPhone, for a fee you get the ability to backup any information.

However, this storage space may not be necessary for everyone. If you're a mobile user who just wants to back up some photos and videos, consider a service that allows you to store about half the space available on your mobile device.

Also, see how much space your photos and videos take up and get the service that you practically need. Just keep in mind that your needs may increase.

What is iCloud?

iCloud Drive is Apple's solution for managing documents and files on iOS and Mac. If you have an iCloud account, you can use this storage. Subscription prices range from free to $19.99 per month, depending on your volume needs. First of all, you will need to go through the setup process and get started with iCloud Drive.

How to enable iCloud Drive manually on iPhone

What is iCloud in practice and how to connect it? When you update iOS from old version, you will need to indicate whether you want to update iCloud Drive. 1. Launch the Settings app on your iPhone running iOS 8 or later.
  2. Click on iCloud.
  3. Click on iCloud Drive.
  4. Enable the option for cloud storage.

You may receive a pop-up warning if you have other iOS and OS X devices that are not currently using iCloud Drive. Remember that they all need to be updated to ensure compatibility between them. So just repeat this process on each one.

How to choose an iCloud Drive subscription plan

By default, iCloud Drive comes with 5GB of free space. This is the same volume that you previously received for backups. Where is the cloud on the iPhone? In new versions, it is accessed through the Files application.

If you feel that this is not enough, you can subscribe for more GB. Or, if you're already paying for an iCloud subscription, you can change it to suit your current needs.

The process goes like this:

  2. Click on iCloud.
  3. Next, click “Storage”.

  5. Choose the plan that best suits your needs.
  6. Click "Buy" in the upper right corner.
  7. Sign in to your iCloud account to complete your purchase.

That's all. Your storage will immediately change and you will see the selected subscription.

How to use iCloud Drive on your iPhone

The great thing about iCloud Drive for iOS is that it always works. You don't need to do or configure anything. Once you're signed into your iCloud Drive account, any apps that support cloud storage will give you options for opening and saving documents.

One of the best features of iCloud Drive is how it works in combination with Mac and Windows. Saving any documents in the cloud makes them instantly available to any service that supports it in iOS, and vice versa. Where is the cloud on the iPhone? You can find all the files, documents and folders in the iCloud Drive app.

In order to access the full version of the iCloud website, you will need to use any browser other than Safari. There is no mobile version of this resource, but the process of working with the online storage is very simple. This way you can process data from several accounts at the same time.

How to Move Files in the Cloud on iPhone

iCloud Drive is now stored in the Files app for iOS 11. It opens up a variety of options for storing and organizing files on your device. You no longer have to stick to app-based folders to organize your content—you can handle everything in Files, like Dropbox or Box. How to work in it? How to find a photo in the cloud on an iPhone and copy it?

  2. Click iCloud Manager under Locations.
  3. Click on the files you want to move.
  4. Click Move at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Click a folder to select a destination for your files.
  6. Select "Move" in the top right corner of the screen.

How to delete files in the cloud on iPhone?

If you find that you don't have enough space or simply have a lot of unnecessary information accumulated, you can easily delete unnecessary files. Doing this is as easy as saving to the cloud on your iPhone. This is done as follows.

  1. Launch the Files application
  2. Click Browse at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select iCloud Manager under Locations.
  4. Click on a folder to open it.
  5. Then - “Select” in the upper right corner of the screen.
  6. Select the files you want to delete.
  7. Click "Delete" in the lower right corner.

It is worth noting that when deleting there is no confirmation of the operation. Deleting files only pre-marks them. They can be restored in the Files application.

How do I enable or disable cellular data for file syncing?

If you have accumulated a large number of documents in the cloud, and you have a limited tariff for storing information, you can prevent the application from using mobile data transfer. To do this, you don’t even need to follow the steps to log into the iCloud cloud from your iPhone. How it's done:

  1. Launch the Settings app.
  2. Click on "Data Transfer".
  3. In the Mobile Data section, scroll down until you find the Files app.
  4. Click the On/Off switch to disable the functionality.

This will allow you to make sure that iCould Drive is not being used to store various information.

Google Photos offers unlimited storage cloud service to store photos and videos for your iPhone and iPad

For many years in a row, the iPhone has become the most popular device for creating photos according to the Flickr service. This did not happen by chance, but thanks to good quality resulting images and ease of use. Unlike digital cameras and point-and-shoot cameras that were popular in the past, the iPhone is always in your pocket and does not require additional manipulations with peripherals. In addition, pictures taken on the iPhone immediately go to your Mac and other iOS devices, and information about their location on the map is saved.

Following the simplicity and ease of use of cameras on the iPhone, they began to actively develop social media and apps like Instagram that aim to share your photos online. The volume of photographs is no longer tied to 36 film frames as in the past and therefore the number of photographs created has increased many times over. Now every owner of an iPhone and iPad is faced with the problem of storing all previously taken photos. You can download them to your Mac or HDD, but it's better to store them in the cloud, where they will never be lost and you can share them with friends and family.

Where to store huge volumes of photos

1.iCloud
2. Flickr
3. Google Photos

1. Sync iOS photos with iCloud

If you have enabled support for photo synchronization in iCloud, then all pictures taken will be sent to Apple's cloud storage. At the same time, there is an option that allows you to save space on your iOS device, which will store low-quality photos on the iPhone only to display their preview. But as soon as you click on the photo, it will be immediately downloaded in the original from iCloud. This is a very clever and convenient trick, you can continue taking photos as much as you like, the originals are stored in the cloud, and your iPhone will remain more or less free for new photos. But here a problem arises: the free volume of iCloud is limited to 5 GB. If all your photos and videos do not fit, you can increase your cloud space by purchasing a subscription.

Cost of additional iCloud Drive storage

Wherein deleted photos from iCloud will delete these photos from all your iOS devices.

pros: iCloud synchronization is built into the operating system mobile devices Apple. It stores originals and saves space on iOS.
Minuses: If you actively use the camera, 5 GB may not be enough; you will need to subscribe for larger volumes.

2. Sync iOS photos with Flickr

Flickr recently released an updated app for iOS that allows you to sync all your videos and photos to the service automatically. You are provided with 1000 GB of free space, which is 200 times more free iCloud storage. All photos uploaded to Flickr will be marked as private by default, they will be visible only to you and hidden from prying eyes. Deleted photos from Flickr will not affect deleted photos on iPhone.

iOS Flickr app

pros: 1000 GB is many times more than the free iCloud volume. All photos and videos are stored in original quality.
Minuses: This volume may also run out over time. Synchronization requires the installation of a special application, which must be launched periodically or kept in memory. Uploaded photos to Flickr are not deleted from the iOS device, which requires periodic manual cleaning of already uploaded photos from the iPhone library.

3. Sync iOS photos with Google Photos

Google has presented another opportunity, which with its proposal looks very, very appetizing. They offer you unlimited volume cloud space for all your photos and videos for free.

iOS Google Photos app

By installing the Google Photos iOS app, you can upload all your photos and videos to Google service Photos and store them there indefinitely without any restrictions on quantity or time. This is definitely a big plus.

What could be the catch? According to Google maximum size Stored photos are 16 MP and 1080p for videos. This means that if your pictures were taken with a camera at a resolution of more than 16 MP, they will be reduced to the specified size.

Fortunately, most modern cameras are around this value. In addition, pictures of iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus have a resolution of 8 MP. However, even though iPhone photos are smaller than the specified limit, they will still be slightly compressed to reduce their volume. Visually, it is very difficult to distinguish the difference between the original and compressed versions.

Can I store originals in Google Photos? Yes, this option is also present but requires a subscription. You are given 15 GB of cloud space for free.

How to Sync Photos from iOS to Google Photos

Comparing the quality of the original (left) with Google Photos (right)

Next, your entire library will be prepared (which may take some time, in our case there were so many photos that it took 2 days to prepare). Photos uploaded to Google Photos can be deleted from your iPhone, just like you can delete them from Flickr manually. In addition, you can free up space on your iPhone if you go to Google Photos, select the photos, click on the menu at the top right and select “delete copies from this device”, while everything that was uploaded to Google Photos will remain there, and these same photos will be deleted from iPhone memory.

However, if you delete photos from Google Photos, they will also be deleted from your iOS device.

All uploaded photos to Google Photos will be recognized by the smart visual search engine. For example, you can click on search and enter the words objects, items, locations. Most of the time, Google Photos finds the things you need. This is a very handy trick, so for example you can find photos of a sofa or your dog from hometown, taken back when cameras could not remember the location of the captured image.

In addition, Google Photos can identify places in pictures, even without geotags. For example, having determined that the Eiffel Tower is in the picture, Google will mark this picture as taken in Paris. And subsequently, by entering “Paris” into the search, you will see pictures of this city, even if the photo did not have location information.

In addition to the iOS application, Google Photos has a web version of the service. You can use it to access your photos, but it will also be used if you give access to someone who doesn't have Google Photos.

To summarize, we can say that Google has introduced an excellent service that will allow you to forever forget about the problem of free space filled with numerous pictures and especially videos. Google app Photos has an intuitive, easy-to-use interface, the ability to delete local copies, and is a great, if not 100% replacement for iCloud, at least a way to back up all your footage. This service will undoubtedly be convenient for those who save significant moments of their lives every day using an iPhone or iPad and do this very often.

To sync with Google Photos you need to install iOS app and have a Gmail account. After authorization, the application will offer to enable automatic uploading of photos and videos to its service, and will also ask you to indicate what type of storage you choose — free unlimited with pictures reduced to a specified size or storage in paid storage.
