Many graduates ask how many points they need to score on the Unified State Exam in a particular subject. The Russian language, like mathematics, usually arouses the greatest interest.

Minimum score

It should be noted that Russian is a compulsory subject on the Unified State Examination. Successfully completing the minimum level allows you to receive a certificate of secondary general education. A score of “2” is given for a result from 0 to 35 points. In this case, the exam is considered failed. The test in a compulsory subject can be retaken on special reserve days (but this can only be Russian or mathematics - retaking the test in both subjects in the same year is not allowed). If the additional exam was also failed, the student has the right to retake it only next year. Thus, in order to pass the Unified State Exam in Russian the first time, you need to score at least 36 points.

How many points do C, A, and A students need?

If you get an A in your Russian language certificate, you shouldn’t worry about the Unified State Exam lowering your grade. The results of the Unified State Exam have no influence on final school grades for a long time. Nevertheless, there is a scale for converting test results into the usual five-point system:

0–35 - two;
36–57 - three;
58–71 - four;
72 and above - five.

Thus, if your result is at least 72 points, then consider that it corresponds to an excellent certificate. If you score, for example, 65 points, that is, get a B, this will not affect the grade on the certificate. The result will be indicated only in a special certificate of passing the Unified State Exam.

How many points do you need to enter the university?

For most graduates of the Unified State Exam, it is not only the main exam that allows them to obtain a certificate of secondary education, but also the entrance test to a higher educational institution. It is difficult to say how many points in the Russian language you need to score to enter the university. It all depends on the number of budget places, the prestige of the educational institution, competition, etc. In addition, today, when entering universities, the sum of points for all entrance examinations is taken into account. Thus, their exact number is important for any direction where Russian is required for admission.

Whether such a system is good or not is quite difficult to determine. On the one hand, it obliges you to prepare equally intensively in all subjects, on the other hand, it gives you a chance even if the scores in the main discipline are not equal to 100. For example, in order to enroll in the undergraduate journalism department of Moscow State University in 2016, applicants had to pass four exam (Russian and foreign languages, literature and an additional entrance test of a creative orientation), each of which was assessed on a 100-point scale. The final result, on the basis of which admission was based, was the sum of points scored in each subject.

How are the Unified State Exam results assessed?

The Unified State Exam results are assessed on a 100-point scale and included in a special “Certificate of Unified State Examination Results.”

When assessing the results of the Unified State Exam, a minimum number of test points is established for each educational subject, confirming that the graduate has mastered the basic general education programs of secondary (complete) education in accordance with the requirements of the federal educational standard of secondary (complete) general education. If a student scores less than the established minimum number of points (has not overcome the minimum threshold), then the Unified State Examination is considered failed.

The value of the minimum threshold is announced within 6-8 days after the Unified State Examination in the subject in the main terms and 2-3 days after the Unified State Examination in additional terms in July.

Unified State Examination scale

When you complete tasks on the Unified State Exam, 1 or more points are awarded for each correct solution, depending on the difficulty. In this case, correctly completed task of part A or B is scored 1 point, part C - up to 4 points. The sum of these scores is called the “primary score” (PS). In fact, this is the number of correctly completed tasks.

    The number of minimum PBs for different subjects may vary, for example:
  • mathematics: 36 PB,
  • biology: 36 PB,
  • foreign languages: 22 PB.

But these are not the scores that will be useful to you, for example, for admission to a university. They need to be converted on a 100-point scale. This is the so-called “test score” (TB).

TB assesses the student’s level of preparedness. It depends on the level of complexity of the tasks completed on the Unified State Exam. This score is used to determine the final grade. The maximum test score on the Unified State Exam in any subject: 100 points.

The primary score is converted into a test score using a special formula.

How the Unified State Exam affects obtaining a certificate

The basis for issuing a graduate with a certificate of secondary education is satisfactory results of the Unified State Examination, i.e. the number of points is not lower than the minimum threshold in compulsory subjects (Russian language and mathematics). In this case, the graduate receives 2 documents: a school certificate and a certificate of Unified State Examination results.

The final grades are included in the certificate according to the traditional 5-point system, which are defined as the arithmetic average of the graduate’s annual grades for grades 10-11 (12).

The results of the Unified State Exam do not affect the final grades included in the certificate.

If a graduate has not passed the minimum threshold in one of the subjects - Russian language or mathematics - on the Unified State Exam within the main deadlines and during the retake, then he will not be issued a certificate.

How and when can you find out your Unified State Exam results?

The results of the Unified State Exam must be known to participants no later than 3 working days after Rosobrnadzor announces the minimum thresholds for each subject. Thus, no more than 12 days pass from the date of the exam. Most regions inform their Unified State Exam participants at an earlier date.

Unified State Exam participants who are graduates of the current year are issued certificates of Unified State Exam results at the educational institution. The rest of the Unified State Exam participants will find out their results where they received their Unified State Exam pass: this is either the PPE in which they took the exam, or the education governing body of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation, local educational authorities.

According to current regulations, each subject of the Russian Federation is independently responsible for informing Unified State Exam participants about the results. In some regions this information can be accessed online for free. You can find out your results by having an individual code (passport number, etc.).

  • Moscow and Moscow region: www.rcoi.net
  • St. Petersburg and Leningrad region: ege.spb.ru

Lists of Unified State Exam participants with their exam results are posted on information stands (at school, PPE, education management body, etc.).

Validity period of the certificate of Unified State Examination results

On November 20, 2013, letter No. DL-345/17 of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation “On the effect of the Unified State Exam results” was published.

“The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia on the issue of the validity of the results of the unified state exam obtained before the entry into force on September 1, 2013 of the Federal Law of December 29, 2012 No. 273-FZ “On Education in the Russian Federation” (hereinafter referred to as the Federal Law), reports .

According to Part 2 of Article 70 of the Federal Law, the results of the unified state exam for admission to undergraduate and specialist programs valid for four years, following the year of obtaining such results.

Consequently, admission to organizations carrying out educational activities in undergraduate and specialist programs is allowed based on the results of the unified state exam, confirmed by Unified State Examination certificates issued in 2015 and 2016, and valid until the end of 2019 and 2020, respectively.

The Unified State Exam certificate after September 1, 2020 is valid for four years following the year of passing the exam. That is, the 2018 certificate expires in December 2022 and can be used for admission to universities in the period from 2018 to 2022. Therefore, certificates issued in 2019 and 2020 are valid until 2023 and 2024, respectively.

The 2018-2019 academic year will be the graduation year for many Russian schoolchildren, who are already concerned about successfully passing the Unified State Exam and successfully entering a good university.

We will tell you how exam papers are checked in different subjects, how the scale for converting Unified State Exam points into grades works, and what innovations you can expect in 2019.

Principles for assessing work on the Unified State Exam 2019

Over the past few years, the Unified State Examination system in a number of subjects has undergone significant changes and has been brought to an optimal (according to the organizers) format, which makes it possible to fully assess the volume of knowledge of a graduate in a particular subject.

In 2018-2019, no fundamental changes are expected and it is safe to say that the same principles as in 2017-2018 will be applied to evaluate the work of graduates:

  1. automated verification of forms;
  2. involving experts in checking tasks with detailed answers.

How does a computer evaluate?

The first part of the examination paper involves a short answer to the questions posed, which the Unified State Examination participant must enter on a special answer form.

Important! Before starting work, be sure to read the rules for filling out the form, as incorrectly completed work will not pass the automated check.

It is quite difficult to challenge the result of a computer check. If the work was not counted due to the fault of a participant who filled out the form incorrectly, the result is considered unsatisfactory.

How do experts rate it?

In many subjects, in addition to the test part, there are tasks that require a full, detailed answer. Since it is impossible to automate the process of checking such answers, experts are involved in the verification - experienced teachers with extensive work experience.

When checking the Unified State Exam, the teacher does not know (and even with a strong desire cannot find out) whose work is in front of him and in which city (region) it was written. Testing is carried out on the basis of uniform assessment criteria developed specifically for each subject. Each work is checked by two experts. If the experts’ opinions coincide, the assessment is put on the form, but if independent appraisers disagree, then a third expert is involved in the verification, whose opinion will be decisive.

That is why it is important to write legibly and accurately so that there is no ambiguous interpretation of words and phrases.

Primary and test scores

Based on the test results, the Unified State Exam participant is awarded a certain number of primary points, which are then converted into text points (points for the entire test). Different subjects have different maximum primary points, depending on the number of tasks. But after giving the result according to the appropriate table, the Unified State Examination participant receives a final test score, which is the official result of his final tests (maximum 100 points).

So, in order to pass the exam, it is enough to achieve the established minimum threshold of the primary score:

Based on these numbers, you can accurately understand that the exam has been passed. But what grade? The 2018 online scale will help you with this, designed specifically for converting primary Unified State Exam scores into test scores, which will also be relevant for the 2019 results. A convenient calculator can be found on the website 4ege.ru.

Announcement of official results

Graduates are always concerned with the question of how quickly they can find out what result was obtained during the test and what the scale for converting the points scored on the Unified State Exam into traditional grades will be in 2019.

Teachers often take it upon themselves to reassure students by working through the tasks of the Unified State Exam tickets immediately after the exam and assessing the quality of the students’ work and the amount of initial points scored. Official results must be waited for 8-14 days, according to the established regulations for the Unified State Exam 2019. On average, organizers approve the following inspection schedules:

  • 3 days to check the work;
  • 5-6 days for processing information at the federal level;
  • 1 working day for approval of the results of the State Examination;
  • 3 days to post results online and transfer data to educational institutions.

In the event of unforeseen situations and technical problems, these deadlines may be revised.

You can find out your owl score:

  • directly at your school;
  • on the portal check.ege.edu.ru;
  • on the website gosuslugi.ru.

Converting points to grades

Since 2009, Unified State Examination results are not included in the graduate certificate. Therefore, today there is no official state system for converting the Unified State Examination result into a grade on a school 5-point scale. As part of the entrance campaign, the test score obtained in the exam is always summed up and taken into account. But many students are still interested in finding out how they passed the exam - 3 or 4, 4 or 5. For this, there is a special table that details the correspondence for each of the 100 points in each subject.

Using such a table is quite inconvenient. It is much easier to find out how you passed the Russian language, mathematics or history by using the online calculator 4ege.ru, which also contains a scale for converting Unified State Exam scores, which is relevant for graduates of 2019.

Having received the Unified State Exam result, you should decide on a university as quickly as possible, comparing your capabilities with the real competition for the specialties you are interested in. Thus, the practice of past years shows that in some cases it is difficult to get into the most popular areas in the capital’s universities even with high scores, because not only holders of 100-point Unified State Exam results, but also winners of the largest Olympiads of the 2018-2019 academic year will compete for places.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU,

GRADUATES!

When taking the exam testing, students are asked to complete 24 basic tasks from the first part. They require graduates to provide a short answer, which is recorded verbally or digitally. The second part of the exam testing contains only one task. Students are asked to write an essay.

How are Unified State Examination scores in the Russian language translated and what is the minimum and maximum number of them that can be obtained? These questions are among the most concerning both for high school students themselves and for their parents and teachers. After checking the final test, a primary score is assigned: from 0 to 58. For each task, a certain number is provided: from 1 to 5. The more complex it is, the more points the graduate receives. Evaluating the results of writing an essay is carried out differently. For this, students can be awarded from 0 to 24 points.

Then the primary scores are converted into test scores. They are indicated in the Unified State Examination certificate. It is this result that is taken into account when entering universities.

How many points do you need to score to talk about passing the test? It should be borne in mind that students who have received a certificate cannot always apply for admission to universities. We can talk about successful completion of the basic general education program and the possibility of entering a university only if the student scores 16 primary or 36 test points, respectively. will be taken into account in the student's ranking in the list of applicants. The average passing score is at least 65-75. Graduates planning to enter leading universities in Moscow and other cities of our country should take into account the fact that in this case this figure will be higher.

The translation of Unified State Exam scores in the Russian language is carried out using a special scale. It is worth considering that the algorithm is adjusted from year to year.
