Based on the lower mythology of European countries, a vampire is nothing more than a dead man, rising from the grave at night in a thirst to be satisfied with human blood. In search of a victim, a vampire can turn into a bat and suck out a lot of bodily fluid from a sleeping person, making him weak, and in some cases, infect the victim, turning him into a bloodsucker similar to himself. It is considered a mythical character, causing nightmares and sleepless nights. It is popularly believed that vampires most often become the so-called “unclean dead” - people who die a premature death (suicide, criminals or victims of vampires).

What are games about vampires, their brightest representatives

In view of the tension of the myth, video game developers have been fond of considering the theme of vampires as one of the most pressing levels of the Horror segment. Downloading vampire games by torrent today is not particularly difficult, but what are vampire games really? First of all, this is an opportunity to visit the shadowy world from the first person of a vampire, who, like a drug addict going through withdrawal, is drawn to human blood. However, there are also exceptions in which the vampire has to be controlled completely humanely, without showing his essence, among harmless citizens, bypassing such a thing as lawlessness.

In the gaming space, the theme of vampires was in enormous demand, more likely at the turn of the 2000s than today. In the period from 2000 to 2005, a sufficient number of projects in the genre of games about vampires were released, the most successful of which were the developments:

  • Konami in the form of the famous (since 1986 on Dendy) series of games. The main character of the saga was the well-known Simon Belmont, but there was an exception in the series, in which Alucard, the son of Count Dracula himself, took on the post of the main character.
  • Troika Games, developed in 2004. The game can be called one of the first vampire simulators with such a concept as humanity (that is, humanity). The chaos in the game is kept to a minimum, while the hero himself remains a nameless “ghost”, finding himself in various situations and places in which he had to be in a completely different form - a simple mortal man. Now, having new opportunities, the player himself determines how humanely the vampire will act in certain situations.
  • Mythic Entertainment, Electronic Arts, which introduced a multiplayer MMORPG in 2001 called (Dark Age of Camelot). Despite being over 14 years old, the project remains relevant today, gathering thousands of active players from all over the world on its servers. You will not meet specific characters in this mythical saga, since the players are divided into four classes (warriors, magicians, thieves and healers), in which it is difficult to differ in any way from their allies. Despite this, the atmosphere of the Middle Ages and the fight against mystical monsters make Dark Age the very representative that is regularly searched for when typing into the search engine the phrase download games about vampires by torrent.

Legends about immortal bloodsuckers are found in the folklore of many nations, and in each culture they are completely different. These are the Sumerian Aksharas, who kill babies, the merciful Dakhanavar from Armenian mythology, who never harms people, the Indian Vetals, who inhabit dead bodies, the Chinese Chiangshi, who feed on chi energy instead of blood, and the Romanian Strigoi - former witches.

Writers and filmmakers have given us a huge variety of vampire images. Consider only the great and terrible Dracula and the lonely Lestat, always tormented by philosophical questions. If in ancient times people felt fear and disgust for these creatures, now we admire them and imagine ourselves in their place. Why? The answer is simple - immortality, strength, power.

So, choose a game to your taste and try on the image of a powerful vampire or a hunter of ruthless bloodsuckers.

14. Vampyr

A game from Dontnod Entertainment, the studio that gave us Remember Me and Life is Strange. Main character, doctor Jonathan Reed, returns to his native London after the First World War and almost immediately becomes the victim of a vampire. The bite of a bloodsucker turned him into a monster: now Reed has to fight a constant thirst for blood and fulfill his professional duty to the best of his ability - the Spanish flu epidemic is raging in the capital, so the doctor, even if turned into a vampire, comes in very handy here.

13. Hellgard

Hellgard - browser-based online game about vampires, werewolves and inquisitors, made in the spirit of Diablo 2. The toy is quite entertaining if you want to feel nostalgic and kill some time.

You will find yourself in a dark world where the forces of evil rule the roost, and you yourself will become part of them, because there are simply no good characters in the game. There are only NPCs who suffer from the injustice and cruelty of this world. Otherwise, everything here is quite typical for similar games: do quests, beat mobs, upgrade your character.

12. The Sims Series

The developers' decision to introduce vampires into the peaceful life simulator The Sims may seem strange. However, the sinister bloodsuckers appeared in the addition to the second part of Nightlife, and then migrated to the next parts of the series.

In essence, playing as a vampire is not much different from playing as an ordinary mortal. You need to create a character or a whole family, move it into a house or build your own, and live happily ever after. But vampires have different needs, they cannot stay in the sun for long, unless a special reward is purchased, they can turn other characters into their own kind. At the same time, bloodsuckers are able to give birth to children, which is not very canonical, and with the appropriate additions they can have pets.

If you have a bunch of settings for the character’s appearance, tools for construction, pieces of furniture and decor, you can build an ancient, gloomy Dracula’s castle, instilling fear in the entire neighborhood.

11. DARK

To say that DARK is reminiscent of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is an understatement. Much here is practically copied from the legendary vampire action RPG, which is worth only the “Vault” club, ripped off from everyone’s favorite “Asylum”. But first things first.

At the beginning of the game, our hero wakes up with a terrible headache in an unfamiliar club. It would seem that there is something wrong with this, but the problem is that he only remembers his name and does not even realize that he belongs to the bloodsuckers until the kind owner of the club tells him about it. The move is interesting, but not new for a long time.

There are a lot of possibilities in DARK, but they are all not implemented in the best way. It seems like the game was made in a hurry. The plot is flat, the controls may seem awkward, and the graphics are also a bit let down. But there are also many advantages. As you progress, you can meet really interesting characters, for example, a sculptor who uses parts of human bodies as material. The fact that any rustle can give you away when you are trying to sneak past an enemy seems quite realistic. The levels here are spacious, you can find many hiding places, loopholes and other interesting places.

10. Last Half of Darkness: Beyond the Spirit's Eye

The horror story Last Half of Darkness: Beyond the Spirit’s Eye from the master of the genre William Fisher was published in Russia by Akella under the title “The Time of Vampires.”

You have to delve into the intricate legend about the city and its inhabitants, whose souls are controlled by a certain “Eye” - an ancient black stone. In search of this rare gemstone you have to go to an abandoned village, covered terrible secrets. It soon becomes clear that the evil that protects the “Eye” does not sleep, and in the village you can stumble upon not only this rare artifact, but also bloodthirsty vampires eager to produce more and more of their own kind. It's them you have to chase.

They won’t tell you what tactics to follow, they won’t give you practically any hints, you’ll have to figure everything out on your own. Unfortunately, the game is now withdrawn from official sales, but let's hope for the best.

Where to buy: The game has been withdrawn from sale on official digital services

9. Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi

Having launched the game, you can complain about the graphics for a long time, but gamers who have experienced all the delights of old games understand perfectly well that happiness does not lie in the graphics. And what, in this sense, can one expect from a project produced in 2003? However, Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi is one of those vampire games that were destined to become almost immortal classics.

So, the events unfold in the century before last. An impoverished family of aristocrats finds a fairly common way for that time to solve their financial problems - to marry their daughter to the son of a rich count. The family arrives at the castle, but instead of preparing for the celebration, these unfortunate people were in for real horror. Now only one of the sons can save them from the bloodthirsty creatures, who, by force of circumstances, arrived at the castle a day later and immediately realized that things were bad.

The main feature of Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi is its unrivaled atmosphere of blood-curdling horror. In the gloomy levels, where scary bloodsuckers await you, even a seasoned horror fan can shake in the veins.

8. A Vampire Story

A Vampyre Story is a wonderful gift for fans of adventure games.

The main character of the story is the beautiful Mona, who was kidnapped by a baron and part-time vampire who was in love with her. Naturally, the kidnapper turned his victim into someone similar to himself, but poor Mona has no idea what metamorphoses happened to her. She is sure that the glass that is presented to her every day is not blood, but wine, and she is not sleeping in a coffin, it’s just an unusual bed. Finally, the baron fell at the hands of religious fanatics, and Mona had a chance to escape from captivity and go to Paris - the city of her dreams.

Neither Mona nor you will be bored. Together with your faithful comrade, the bat Froderik, sitting on your shoulder, you will complete quests and go on adventures.

One of the most important advantages of the game is the graphics. It immediately becomes clear that the characters and the world are drawn not only with care, but also with love. Sparkling black humor and excellent voice acting add to the fun.

7. Dracula Series

The game continues Bram Stoker's story about the notorious Count Dracula. Dracula: Resurrection takes place 7 years after Jonathan Harker and his friend Quincy killed the bloodsucker. However, it turned out that destroying the vampire is not so easy - the count is still alive and in good health. An insidious bloodsucker lured Jonathan's beloved to his castle. Naturally, Jonathan will do his best to save her.

From now on it begins new story about a bloodthirsty vampire. Each part of the game is a new plot, new heroes and new terrible secrets.

6. Forsaken World

Forsaken World is a project from Perfect World, a stronghold of Chinese gaming. The plot of the game develops around the legend of the ancient gods: Dios and Nikos, responsible for creation and destruction. Among the endless space of the Universe, Dios found a beautiful world called Eira. He brought several more deities into it, called to carry out his will. But Nikos wanted to destroy Eira, and the war of the gods began.

5. Skyrim: Dawnguard

In the Dawnguard expansion, you will have to forget about dragons for a while and fight other creatures that threaten the world. Or not to fight, that’s up to you to decide.

The story begins with the rescue of the pretty daughter of Lord Harkon, the patriarch of a powerful vampire clan. Having volunteered to take the girl home, the unlucky hero does not even realize that he is actually going into the lair of vampires. For the return of his daughter, the lord offers him the most valuable gift - turning into a vampire. If you like wine more than blood, there is an opportunity to get out quickly.

By choosing the path of a vampire, you will turn into something sinister and winged, suck life energy from victims, give orders to gargoyles and become a cloud of fog that is not afraid of any attacks. If you decide to join the ranks of the Dawnguard, you will simply be equipped with a crossbow and sent to do good in this world. However, there is no serious difference between playing as a toothy monster and playing as a newly minted fighter against evil spirits.

4. BloodRayne Series

The main character, whom you will control throughout the three games in the series, is the beautiful Rain, half-vampire, half-human. In the first part, the secret organization Brimstone Society, for which Rain works, sends her to fight the Nazis and discover the secrets of the occult organizations of the Third Reich. Solid action, sophisticated murders, rivers of blood, mystical riddles await you, and the most attentive will find several Easter eggs.

The events of the second part take place 60 years later. It seems that during this time, Rain learned to kill even more brutally and colorfully. At a party hosted by her half-brother, Raine learns a secret about Cagan, her father. Naturally, the search for answers to the questions that concern Raine is associated with bloody reprisals against everyone who comes to hand, and our beauty will go towards her goal, leaving behind mountains of corpses.

The third part of the series will take us to the world of the future, which looks like a bizarre mixture of traditions of the century before last and cyberpunk. This time, Rain faces a global goal - to forever rid humanity of the threat posed by vampires.

You can easily buy the English version of the entire series, but if you prefer your native language, you can download localizations: BloodRayne, BloodRayne 2, BloodRayne: Betrayal.

3. Castlevania series

Castlevania is one of Konami's largest and longest-running projects. The entire series is based on the unforgettable novel by Bram Stoker. The main characters are members of the Belmont family, endowed with special abilities that allow them to destroy vampires with enviable success. Of course, the main enemy of the brave Belmonts is Count Dracula, who periodically wakes up from sleep with a thirst to spawn hordes of evil spirits and plunge the world into darkness and chaos.

In addition to vampires, there are other creepy creatures in games - zombies, mummies, werewolves, and sometimes you can even come across a deity from someone’s mythology.

The first game in the series was released back in 1986 for Famicom Disk System consoles and gained popularity thanks to its dark mystical atmosphere. Since then, Castlevania has confidently taken first place in any top vampire games and has been released on many platforms, including PC.

2. Legacy Of Kain Series

Games in the Legacy Of Kain series were released from 1996 to 2004. Their action takes place in the fantasy world of Nosgoth (an online project based on the Legacy Of Kain universe was released under this name, but the developers, unfortunately, had to close it).

The main characters of the story, whose guise you will take on while traveling through Nosgoth, are a former nobleman with the sonorous name Cain, killed by robbers and returned to life thanks to necromantic magic, and Raziel, one of Cain’s lieutenants, who also managed to cheat death and return in the guise ghost. You'll control Kain in both Blood Omen games, and Raziel in Soul Reaver and Soul Reaver 2. In the final game in the series, Defiance, you'll have to try on both characters alternately.

All parts of Legacy Of Kain met with a warm reception and mostly positive reviews from gamers.

1. Vampire: The Masquerade Series

It’s unlikely that anyone would have expected that the Vampire: The Masquerade duology would not be first in the top. Despite the commercial failure of the second part, “Vampire Masquerade” failed to surpass any vampire project.

Both parts of the duology are based on the popular board game. Vampire mythology is tied to biblical history about Cain, who brought the first evil into the world by killing his brother. God punished the killer with the curse of vampirism, and since then Cain was forced to wander the world, afraid of the sun and languishing with a thirst for blood. He founded his own city and created other vampires, whose descendants became the founders of the thirteen great vampire clans.

The plot of the first part, Redemption, takes place in the Middle Ages and is built around the confrontation between the Brujah and Tzimisce clans. The main character is the crusader knight Christophe. After being wounded in battle, Christophe finds himself in a Prague monastery, where the story of vampires begins. Having volunteered to destroy the bloodsuckers, the hero has no idea that he is destined to become one of them.

Bloodlines takes place already in modern world. At the very beginning of the game, you are asked to take something like a psychological test, based on the results of which the most suitable clan will be selected for you. However, you can independently choose any of the seven clans of the Camarilla.

Being still a very green bloodsucker, you will have to be at the beck and call of the local prince, and as the plot develops, everyone will try to take advantage of you for their own purposes. It must be said that the plot is one of the main advantages of Bloodlines, it is practically devoid of standard hackneyed moves and leads to a very unexpected ending, but we won’t spoil it. The game easily draws you into its dark and mysterious atmosphere, which is supported by gorgeous soundtracks

Legacy Of Kain series of games

The games in the series take place in a fantasy world called Nosgoth and span several thousand years. Two games - Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain And Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2- are dedicated to the fate of a vampire named Cain, a former nobleman killed by a group of robbers and resurrected by the necromancer Mortanius. Hero of two more - Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver And Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2- appears Raziel, once one of Cain’s lieutenants, who returned from the other world in the form of a vengeful ghost. The final game in the series, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, brings both heroes together and pits them against each other.

Screenshots

The first game in the series is a 2D top-down game. Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain belongs to the action-adventure role-playing genre. The hero explores the game world quite freely, discovering secrets and gaining new abilities. The game presents the player with a dark world similar to the world of Diablo, and a complex literary plot. The subsequent parts of the series are from a third person.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption

Release date: 2000

Genre: RPG, third person action

Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption action role-playing game with a third-person view. The plot is dedicated to the confrontation between two vampire clans - Brujah and Tzimitsu. But the player also has to fight against other vampire clans. The game also has a love “note”. And the main motive for the actions of the main character Christophe is love for the nun - Anezka (Russian: Anechka). Which he meets in the convent of the Holy Cross, located in Prague. In this sense, the game is distinguished by a special spirit of drama and gothic, and is imbued with the vampire genre. During the game the player will have to visit medieval Prague and Vienna, as well as modern New York and London.

During the game the player will have to control a group of characters. One of the characters is the main one (Christophe Romuald) and the player will go with this character through his transformation from human to vampire. The role-playing system of the game is based on the so-called “experience” that is typical for many games of the RPG genre. The character has certain characteristics - dexterity, strength, intelligence, humanity. For destroying opponents, the player receives “experience”, which is used to unlock new abilities and improve the hero’s characteristics.

The game has such a character characteristic as humanity. It is a scale whose divisions decrease in case of murder peaceful people or law enforcement officers. You can increase your humanity level only in story missions. How the hero behaves affects the ending of the game

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines

Release date: 2004

Genre: RPG, third person action

Second part Vampire: The Masquerade. The game is played from the perspective of a vampire. At the very beginning of the game, the player will be offered a clan, and the choice of clan can significantly affect the style of play and the entire game as a whole, since each clan has a set of characteristics and disciplines (supernatural abilities). During the game, the hero receives a variety of tasks, both plot and side. For completing tasks, the hero receives experience. Experience can be spent on distributing skills and abilities, both physical (dexterity, strength, endurance, etc.) and mental, as well as disciplines (their set depends on the choice of clan).

Also in the game there is the concept of Masquerade - you cannot eat and show your supernatural abilities in front of mortals. If you break the Masquerade five times in a row without recovery, the game will end. Also, the more violations of the Masquerade, the more vampire hunters will hunt the hero: after all, by breaking the Masquerade, the player attracts their attention.

There is another concept in the game - humanity, that is, humanity. The lower this parameter, the harsher and more impudent the dialogues with other characters become and the hero may fall into madness (loss of control). Conversely, with high humanity, the dialogues are respectful, there are no various insults, and the hero rarely falls into madness. Humanity can be increased by using experience points, or by performing a very good deed. Humanity can be reduced by killing people or by committing a very evil deed, for example, dooming a person to a very cruel death.

You won’t have to fight evil alone, because the hero is helped by other agents of the same secret service: Skat Dazzle, who is fond of the voodoo cult, and Svetlana, the sweetest girl, almost a Komsomol member and half-vampire.

Some tasks will be full of logic puzzles, each of which can be solved in different ways. But the basis of the game will not be logic puzzles. You will have to engage in battle more often than flex your brains. the main character Stranger, as befits a real secret agent, is a good shot with a pistol and shotgun. And the sight, like a laser one, makes his eye even sharper and makes life much easier for players. So what if there were no laser sights in the 30s? There were no vampires then. Maybe…

The plot is dedicated to a half-vampire girl (dhampir) fighting the Nazis and Nazi-occult organizations seeking to gain world domination. The plot of the first part takes place in the 1930s. A young and inexperienced dhampir (half-vampire-half-human) Rain, working for the mysterious organization Brimstone Society, sets off on her first combat missions. Rain can slide down the railings, simultaneously cutting up opponents with his double blades, climb pipes, jump from one grate to another, swing on the crossbars and even shoot from them while hanging upside down, etc. The game features dismemberment of bodies (limbs are cut off fully and partially), a lot of brutal finishing off of enemies. The game is based on a classic scheme, consisting of searching for objects, solving puzzles and communicating with characters. The endings depend on Jonathan's behavior during the game - whether he will indulge his vampire nature, killing innocent people, or, on the contrary, will take care of them, protect and treat them as it should be

Almost like Twilight, only a little more brutal

1. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (2004)

A cult game about vampires from the creators of Fallout, who, as you know, don’t knit brooms. So this time they did their best and created an RPG with a fascinating setting, many factions (vampire clans), amazing characters, the most interesting quests and the addition of true horror. The game is non-linear, there are 6 different endings.

Vampires from Troika Games are distinguished by intelligence and intelligence, as well as non-linearity

A brief overview of the best, in our opinion, ten electronic games about vampires throughout the entire existence of the industry.

When the first computers appeared, then the first video games appeared. Computers were large and complex, but games were small and simple. As electronics developed, specialized devices even appeared - stationary slot machines, in which you could play one game for a fee. Now that computers have become small, those same slot machines have migrated to the Internet, phones have become more powerful than the data centers of the past, and hundreds of games are released on all platforms every year. And it just so happens that games dedicated to vampires - our favorite topic - make up a significant part of them (even one-armed bandits in virtual casinos are about vampires).

And so, meet our ten favorite games about vampires!

Released on the PlayStation 2 console in 2005, this game tops our list because of its great concept. It may very well be the worst shooter in PS2 history, but the concept behind the game is great. Bring the mythology and lore of blood-sucking vampires into a technologically enhanced version of the Wild West and get this game. Something like John Carpenter's Vampires. In general, if you look away from the poor mechanics and immerse yourself in a good plot, you can have a lot of fun.

You don't know Sam and Max? I can only sympathize with you. You haven't seen one of the most original games that exists in the world. In general, Max and Sam are a whole series of small but very interesting episodes. And each episode has something special that makes them unique. But honestly, Night of the Raving Dead is my favorite. The duo will have to fight the vampire Jurgen, who has decided to fill the world with zombies, living skeletons and other evil spirits. Quite fun. This episode also has perhaps the best humor and banter of the entire series.

The game was released in 2004 on PC. Of course it has its shortcomings. The combat system and graphics are a bit clunky. But if you delve into the plot, you will discover a rich and thoughtful world that you can enthusiastically explore. Probably only in this game can you feel like a real vampire. You can take your character to the poor neighborhoods of Los Angeles to satisfy all your vampire fantasies. Yes I said All fantasies. You can kill people in batches, you can initiate as many people as you want, and even satisfy your erotic fantasies... Overall, this is a pretty good implementation of the board game of the same name.

At a time when games like Resident Evil reigned supreme in the survival horror genre, Bandai dared to do something different and offered players a vampire thriller for the PlayStation. The first impression of the game is quite cool, but once you go a little further it becomes very interesting. In this game, you can turn vampires back into people by putting them to sleep with a needle pistol and pouring “white water” on them. Unlike the same Resident Evil, you will have to try many fighting styles and weapons, although not always atomic bomb, but a lot of what comes along the way. By the way, if you complete the game in less than eight hours, an alternative history mode will open, where many moments that are not included in the main plot are shown.

By today's standards, this game would probably be considered boring. The game style is point and click, a style that has brought a fair number of gamers to tears and rage. It doesn't have crazy action. Call of Duty or depth Mass Effect . However, this game (the third in the series from Sierra Online) has an intriguing plot and very lovable characters. This story goes so far down the rabbit hole that you forget what the surface looks like. It includes vampires and their connection to the Templars, the Priory of Sion, and even Jesus. This is what could happen if you Da Vinci Code And Heavy Rain a child appeared... a creepy, cursed, undead child.

There is a whole series of stories in which the dhampir Rain, the child of a human and a vampire, participates. The most noticeable will be Vampire Hunter D and Blade. Rain, in her high boots, destroys and chops everything in her path, trying to find her father in order to understand who she is and why. She tries to deny her vampire instincts, helps people fight against the hordes of the undead and does not give in to her inner evil. If you are a fan of games like Prince of Persia or just want to break and chop something, then the games in this series are for you. Look past the weak movie trilogy and mediocre comics, the games that spawned them shouldn't disappoint.

One of the best DLC games for the PlayStation 3 came out before Halloween 2011. The story begins with Zeke trying to pick up a girl in a pub, telling the story of his friend Cole, who went along with Bloody Mary, Queen of the Vampires. Throughout the game you get many chances to become bad or good. Having traveled an incredible path, you will either become one of the damned forever, or maybe part with Mary at dawn.

At one time, Bethesda Softworks destroyed everything we free time, releasing Skyrim with its huge world. In this sequel they went even further... From the very beginning the player is faced with the question, should he help the vampire hunters or join the clan of bloodsuckers? There's so much new material in the expansion that it's hard to get your head around it at first. They added a crossbow, three new dragon shouts, and random appearances of legendary dragons. In addition, it became possible to completely customize the character's face (in Riften). This is perhaps one of the best additions to Skyrim.

It's hard to compete with five best game titles and 3.5 million copies sold. Legacy of Kain is a new face of the genre. It's not often that we see an anti-hero on the path to redemption. On his journey to restore balance to himself and the world, he deals with fate, solves problems of morality, relationships, repentance and, ultimately, salvation. Basically, Cain showed a very human aspect in a traditionally inhuman form of existence. The game is filled with amazing visuals and views of the world of Nosgoth. Top-class voice acting and perfect gameplay are easily recognizable. It's not surprising that the series has such huge army fans.

No list of vampire games would be complete without the Belmont family in it. These vampire hunters made their home on the NES gaming platform back in 1987. Since then, the Belmont family, continuously swinging swords, throwing axes and spilling tons of holy water, has freed the world from vampires. Belmonts exist on virtually every gaming platform known to mankind. Gamers saw many stories about Balmont, the origin of his family and the history of his fight against vampires. They also observed some family members turning into undead. Surprisingly, Konami still makes Castlevania games that are fun to play. Originating on the NES, the game continues its adventures on PS3 and XB360, these games have received seven Guinness World Records and millions of fans around the world...
