On Jupiter, a day lasts 10 hours. In Minecraft it’s even cooler - the daily cycle here is 20 minutes. Of these, Notch allocated 10 to the day, one and a half minutes to sunset and dawn, and the rest of the time - 7 minutes - to the night. Such a rapid rotation of the game planet around its own axis (or does the Sun revolve around us in Minecraft?) does not suit everyone and not always. This is understandable: as soon as, figuratively speaking, you stroke the laces, it’s already time to sleep. And that’s not why we came to play, to be told how long we should stay awake and how much time we should devote to the pillow. We would real life I’m not at all averse to controlling nature, including time, and even in such a creative sandbox as Minecraft... they wanted to say: “Notch himself ordered it,” but he just doesn’t really order it.
Well, it’s okay, we crafters are our own Einsteins. We know well that time is relative, and if so, then there must be a way to stretch and compress it according to our will. And this is exactly the case when the method not only should, but also is obliged, and we will tell you what it is.

We command the night and day
For your ambitious dream to come true, you must either have server operator rights, or, if you prefer solo and Creative, enable cheat mode. With three planks and three wool blocks you can create a bed. If you go to sleep, then night will instantly give way to day. More precisely at dawn. In online mode, there is one feature - all players must go to bed.
Console
There is another way to make a day in Minecraft. Of course, this is a system/server command from an administrator. There are several variations of the command. The problem is that in different versions and modifications of the game the commands may vary slightly. Therefore, there is a universal way to start: /help + ENTER.
A help menu will appear in which you can find and clarify the correct spelling of the command. IN general case There are two ways:
- Alphabetical. The command looks like this. /time set day (/time set night). For day and night respectively. The team is good for single player mode.

Command block

Since it is impossible to create manually in the game, it remains up to the creative mode, server administrators and cheaters. The main thing is to remember that the installation is configured once and allows you to rewind time to a certain value. If you want to change the time regularly, you will have to install several of these devices.
In Minecraft you have to face the fact that the days and nights there are very short. And as soon as players begin active construction or fighting mobs, the time of day changes. And so many things remain unfinished. Especially in the first stages, you want to extend the time and have time to build a house without haste before night falls. There is also a need to make at least some decent weapon. Therefore, many players would like to be able to control the length of the day, and know how to do this.
Options
There are several ways to extend the day, or skip it. But each of them has its own nuances.
One of the simplest options is for all players in the upper world to go to bed on their beds at the same time. But it is not very convenient, since it requires distraction from gameplay and mutual agreement.
The easiest thing to do in this matter is for server administrators. Since they just need to write “/set time xxx” on the command line. The time of day depends on what number will stand instead of the X's. In Minecraft, the limit of these values varies from 0 to 24000. If you enter 0, then dawn will begin on the server. Midnight corresponds to a value of 18,000. And for half a day, it is enough to enter 6,000.
For players single player and creative minecraft, there is also an opportunity to take advantage command line and write “/time day” or “/tame night”, for day and night, respectively.
You can also use a whole installation that gives you the ability to control day and night. For it you will need:
- Command block

But the command block is only available in Creative mode, administrators and those who have cheat codes configured. To create it, just enter the command “/give character name 137”. Using RMB you can enter the block interface. In the text field that opens, enter the command “tame set XXX”. For eternal day you can enter a value of 5000. And for night - 17000.
Next, using red dust, draw a line to the block with the button. Pressing the button will bring into effect the specified parameters on the command block. Game days and their features

Next comes the final stage of the cycle - sunrise. It lasts 90 seconds and marks the beginning of the day. At this time, in the west the moon sets behind the horizon, in the east the sun rises. The illumination of blocks increases by 1 level every 10 seconds. The sky turns red, then orange. After sunrise, the moon immediately changes its phase.
Few people want to spend a lot of time at night on the streets of the Minecraft world: it’s dark, hostile mobs will spawn. In reality, this also often happens, but instead of mobs, all sorts of really unpleasant personalities appear. Fortunately, in Minecraft, unlike in real life, you don’t have to wait for the end of the dark time of the day, but instantly, if you wish, make it day. So what needs to be done to achieve this?
Making a day in survival
In survival mode in Minecraft, in order for the day to come immediately, you just need to sleep on the bed. The bed can be made as follows (see picture below).
