Crimea is amazing and unique from the point of view of climate and landscape, and from the point of view of history. This small piece of land has more than once become a crossroads of significant historical events, it was loved and sung by many outstanding people, and its nature still serves as a magnet that attracts thousands of people here at any time of the year. To get to know Crimea, you have to live here. But even a short vacation spent on this blessed land will not let you forget the Crimean shores, the sound of the surf, palaces, embankments and mighty mountains along the southern coast.

When is the best time to come

In any season! Crimea is always good: in summer it is a warm sea, an abundance of fruits, all kinds of water activities and the unique smell of cedars, pines and herbs heated by the sun; in the fall - gifts from gardens, fantastically diverse and delicious grapes, mountains covered with colorful forests; in winter - sanatoriums, evergreen parks, gray-haired Ai-Petri with its ski slopes, the sea, which decided to remind of its strength, and suddenly blooming almond trees; in spring there is a riot of smells and colors of the awakened sea and nature.

Of course, people visit Crimea for different purposes: some want to relax by the sea, some want to admire nature or local attractions, some want to improve their health. Whatever your purpose for going to the peninsula, you will always find it!

"Wild" holiday

If you have long been tired of hotels with their measured life, if at night you want to swim and fry mussels over a fire, then the question of where is the best place to relax as a “savage” in Crimea will not be idle for you. There are campsites that have arisen spontaneously, where you have to get food and water yourself, but there are also some amenities (they bring water, there is a shower, a cafe):

  • Quiet bay: the tent camp is located a half-hour walk from Koktebel. You can eat in a cafe;
  • Where is the best place to relax in Crimea in an informal setting? In Fox Bay, located between the villages of Pribrezhnoye and Kurortnoye, under Mount Echki-Dag. The place has long been chosen by informals (nudists, hippies). Fresh water can be obtained from springs, and food from neighboring villages;
  • Laspi Bay: located between capes Sarych and Aya on the southern coast of Crimea. Mountains, juniper thickets, clear sea - everything is beautiful, except for the not very convenient descent to the sea. Water and food can be purchased in the village of Sarych. This one will be remembered for a long time.
  • Orlovka: a village on the coast. The tent can be pitched directly on the beach;
  • If you are looking for a place where it is better to relax alone in Crimea, then visit the Belyaus tract, in the west of Crimea, 20 km from the village of Chernomorskoye. Belyauskaya Spit - 10 km of deserted sandy beach. The place is still little known to tourists, and therefore is environmentally friendly. You can buy food and water in neighboring villages;
  • Lyubimovka: the beach and the village of the same name are located near Sevastopol. Tents can be placed near the sea, closer to the cliffs. The village has cafes and shops.

These are the most Famous places, but no one will forbid you to stop at capes Fiolent, Meganom, and on any secluded beach you like near the village of Novy Svet, near Sudak.

Perhaps you have also thought about where it is better to relax in Crimea so as to remain a “savage”, but a lazy and carefree savage. The following rest is also possible:

  • Autocamping in Evpatoria. The beach is sandy, the sea is warm. Parking is paid, but there is a hot shower, toilet, electricity, wi-fi;
  • If you are looking for a better place to relax in Crimea with the opportunity to go fishing or diving, then go to Olenevka. The village located on Cape Tarkhankut is called the center of “wild” recreation. There is a car camping with amenities. Many people prefer to pitch tents. The place is open, there is no greenery, but there are sandy beaches, excellent fishing and good diving spots.

Crimea was sung by the classics: Pushkin and Tsvetaeva, Mandelstam and Bunin, Brodsky and many others. What so struck sensitive creative people?

The beauty of Crimea is the beauty of world significance. Its nature is so independent that it resembles an alien world in miniature - as if imprisoned in a glass ball. Mountains and colorful rocks, white-foam beaches of two seas, two hundred sunny days year, lush vineyards, summer-blooming steppes, healing waters and dirt, exotic plants - all this is the wealth of the Crimean peninsula.

Crimea is perceived as a dream, permeated sun rays like the thickness of a sea wave. Crimea is associated with ripe peaches and grapes, dogwoods and apricots. Crimea is remembered for a long time: its wild and exciting landscapes, mysterious mountain-forest landscapes and lush flowers scattered everywhere. These are gorges and waterfalls, mountaineering trails and cultural and educational excursions to the ruins of ancient buildings. On the territory of Crimea, the remains of the ancient cities of Chersonesus and Panticapaeum have been preserved; the mysterious underground beauties of the cave cities of Chufut-Kale and Mangup.

In addition to sea holidays, almost all year round Crimea offers difficult mountain routes for experienced climbers and easy ones for beginners.

Three hundred resorts scattered along the shores welcome tourists in hot weather. summer season and in tenderly warm velvet (August-October). Diversify beach holiday diving, sailing on yachts, catamarans and jet skis, kite and windsurfing, horseback riding, cycling excursions.

Let's talk about how to have an inexpensive holiday in the most popular resorts of Crimea:

  • Yalta;
  • Feodosia;
  • Zander;
  • Koktebel;
  • Saki.

Yalta

Foothill resort with a Mediterranean climate. Yalta is a city that includes many resorts, such as Alupka, Gurzuf, Massandra and others - in total there are about thirty resorts that make up the Greater Yalta agglomeration.

The city itself is small - about one hundred thousand people permanently live in it, but from one and a half to two million tourists arrive annually.

They all scatter along the sandy and pebble beaches of Yalta, relax by the sea, average temperature which in warm seasons is 24 degrees.

Yalta air is considered healing - there are a lot of sanatoriums where respiratory diseases are cured. The air descending from three mountain ranges promotes vigor, restoration of strength, health and beauty.

Among the sanatoriums where you can economically get treatment and for active, useful recreation, the following stand out:

  • Sanatorium named after Kirov (from 550 to 700 rubles per day for two);
  • Boarding house "Parkovy" (from 500 to 700 rubles per day for two);
  • Sanatorium "Eagle's Nest" (from 700 to 1000 rubles per day for two).

Each boarding house and sanatorium is located near the main attractions of Yalta:

  • Livadia White Palace;
  • Palace "Swallow's Nest";
  • Massandra Palace.

All three palaces were founded in the 18th-19th centuries, and if you can briefly tell about the Bely Palace that it is a uniquely grandiose architecture, and about the Massandra Palace it is about beauty and famous wine cellars, then the Swallow’s Nest will require a more detailed description.

This palace was originally called the Palace of Love - a certain romantically minded military official, whose name history has not preserved, founded it on a cliff above the boiling surf. The name of the “love” that prompted him to build a wonderful castle has also been lost to history.

Later, the palace passed from hand to hand among courtiers and merchants, even became a restaurant, and has survived to this day, reconstructed in 1927 (it was damaged by an earthquake).

The palace stands alone, close to the very edge of the cliff. Its spiers, size, decoration and monumentality defy the eyes - how can its bulk rest so easily and gracefully on a fragile cliff?

The popularity of the “Nest” has forced a lot of hotels, inns and guest houses to join it, including some that will significantly save money on accommodation:

  • “Dog Hostel” (from 600 rubles per day);
  • Guest house “On Kirova” (from 800 rubles per night);
  • Hotel "Happy" (from 1000 rubles per night).

Feodosia

An ancient (founded in the 6th century) city with the poetic name “Gift of God”. The artist Aivazovsky lived and created his world-famous marina paintings here, whose museum is located in his own house.

Feodosia is warmer than Yalta, the sea here warms up already in mid-May, and the beaches are free almost everywhere. Among them, the long Golden Beach, 15 km long, stands out. It is covered with sand and small crushed shells. The bottom is flat, so the beach is suitable for children.

There are also rocky beaches, which are difficult to get to through piles of stones. But if you overcome the mountain paths, you can go out to crystal clear coves, caves, inside of which life boils in small salt lakes, and enjoy solitude.

Among the natural attractions is the ancient extinct volcano Kara-Dag and the surrounding small bays with colorful pebbles.

Historical attractions include:

  • Kafa Fortress;
  • Temple of Sarkis;
  • Mufti-Jami Mosque.

Accommodation prices in Feodosia are lower than on the shores of Southern Crimea, and in the low season they drop almost to next to nothing. Guest houses, for example, offer accommodation from only 250 rubles. per day:

  • "Boulevard Hill";
  • "Gabriel";
  • PGT "Beregovoe".

Cottages for big company will cost from 2000 rubles. per day.

From 1000 rub. for two people per day in luxury rooms they offer:

Embankment in Feodosia.
  • Boarding house "Cote d'Azur";
  • Hotel "KamaPol";
  • Villa "Nymphaeum".

And economy class starts from 500 rubles. per day:

  • Boarding house "Volna";
  • Hotel "On Grecheskaya";
  • Hotel "Home Comfort".

How to get to Crimea

By car

Due to the tense situation on the “Ukraine” border, currently the most relevant route to Crimea is through the Kerch crossing. The road from Moscow to the port of Kavkaz is 1,500 kilometers and will take about 19 hours. Almost the entire road will have to be driven along the M4 (Don) highway; there are toll sections on the highway, which are no different in route from the free road, but are located in better condition, so if possible, it’s worth saving your car and nerves and shelling out a couple of hundred for the toll road.

Ferries run 16 times a day, there is a queue at the crossing, and there are inspectors handing out coupons with your number in the queue. The queue can be very long and take a lot of time (sometimes they wait for 18 hours), the queues accumulate in holidays and during bad weather, the queue lasts up to two days after the storm (until those who waited leave). The cost of the crossing depends on the number of people and the length of the car: an adult ticket is 162 rubles, a ticket for a car length up to 4.2 m. 1190 rub.

Total: ~1800 km. by car at a consumption of 8 l./100 km. Priced at 34 rubles. per liter – 4896 rubles one way + ferry payment – approximately 2000 rubles. (based on 4 people in the car).

In terms of time, we get 19 hours before the crossing + crossing: two or three hours in line + an hour to swim, + the road through the Crimea, depending on the destination, from an hour to four. The journey should be divided into two days with an overnight stay before the ferry.

Budget holiday destinations on the southern coast of Crimea

For lovers of a relaxing holiday in the south of Crimea, we advise you to pay attention to several settlements where affordable housing and beach areas are free: Alupka, Yalta or Alushta are not for an economical holiday. But the settlements next to them are very suitable for a cheap vacation in Crimea.

  • The settlement of Solnechnogorskoye is not far from the city of Alushta and is located on the Ulu-Uzen River. The resort location is recommended for people suffering from respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. The beach is small pebbles mixed with gray-red sand.
  • Forty kilometers from the city of Alushta there is the settlement of Malorechenskoye, which is famous for its nature and free beach. On the territory of the settlement there is a lighthouse temple and the producer of famous Massandra wines.
  • The village of Rybachye (commonly called Rybachka) is located in the urban district of Alushta on the first line of the Black Sea coast. The beach is pebble. A strip of cafes and mini-hotels stretches along the shore.

The resort city of Evpatoria and nearby villages

It would be worth noting that holidays in Evpatoria are available, despite the demand, both in sanatorium treatment and private holidays. This city is suitable for families with children, as there are medical and preventive institutions specializing in all human diseases. Thanks to the dry and hot climate, it is comfortable to relax here. The city's beaches consist of sand and pebbles. The cost of living per person per day starts from 400 rubles and increases as you approach the sea.

Not far from Yevpatoria there is a settlement called Popovka, near the city of Mirny and Lake Donuzlav. Blue sea, - perfect place for holidays with children. In Popovka you can rent inexpensive rooms in guest houses. Food in canteens is not expensive.

Inexpensive private sector in Crimea

For many visitors, sanatoriums and boarding houses are unaffordable, and then the private sector comes to their aid, offering very good conditions accommodation, both in the form of rooms, floors and houses. Due to competition among themselves, private owners improve their service for guests from year to year, which affects the cost. So, renting a home with comfortable conditions is quite possible. Why is vacation in the private sector inexpensive? And here are the answers:

  • The infrastructure in such places is not developed. These include Mezhvodnoye, Olenevka and Frunze.
  • The private sector is just beginning to gain strength, so the cost of vacation is relatively low.

This type of accommodation is popular among couples with children and lovers of silence. In this case, there are places in Crimea where this is feasible: Saki, Zaozernoye and the villages of the Leninsky district.

Meals and excursions

Vacations always come with the question of quality and inexpensive food. Since the bulk of the budget is spent on this. Eating out in cafes and restaurants every day is not budget-friendly. In Crimea there are canteens where you can eat inexpensively. Choose those where there are a lot of people, so at least the food in them will not be stale and will always be fresh. Another option: you should either buy food and cook it yourself, or pay the owner for cooking. By the way, there are more shops in Crimea. Especially in cities. As a last resort, stock up on canned food and dry foods, but this is not always good for the body. You can take advantage of the offers of recreation centers and boarding houses that have canteens. Meals in this case are included in the accommodation.

But most vacationers go to Crimea for the impressions and romance that local attractions provide. If you are not a fan of walking in crowds and listening to a guide, then you should take care of routes and transport in advance. Due to the developed bus infrastructure, getting to most famous monuments and places of pilgrimage for tourists will not be difficult. So, travel wisely! And have a nice holiday!
