Each vehicle has its own individual armor, its thickness is different everywhere. The strongest is the front, and the most vulnerable point is the stern. The sides also have weak armor compared to the front, but thicker armor in relation to the stern. Tanks of the same level or higher can easily inflict damage with a direct shot at the side, but not every tank of a lower level can penetrate it.
On some combat vehicles there is additional protection and armoring WoT tanks in the form of screens - thin sheets of steel. Of course, such armor will not protect the tank from a direct hit, but in another situation it may prevent this by changing the angle of penetration of the projectile. Individual parts of the armor have their own angle of inclination, both horizontally and vertically. The armor works differently here.
In most cases, especially when moving, such armor gets a ricochet. It is called reduced because due to the slope its thickness increases and it is very difficult to break through it. The tank turret has the strongest armor and, in addition, side and horizontal bevels.
The gun's armor penetration also has its own difficulties in its ability to penetrate the armor of enemy vehicles. Each gun has its own caliber - the diameter of the barrel, which can affect the range and speed of the projectile, as well as its accuracy or dispersion.

Also, armor penetration parameters are indicated at an average distance of 100 meters.
